Default Taking out Vortech Blower

I have to send in my blower due to some bad bearings and my question is will i be able to take out the blower and install a filter and be able to drive the car? Do i have to do anything about the tune? Is there anything else I'd have to do? The reason i ask is Vortech says it takes 2weeks and i cant be without for that long. TIA

You should be able to do it with no issues. Just make sure to use the stock belt.

i think tightening the belt a lot is something that's especially hard on bearings - no idea if yours was super tight though

It may have been to tight which caused the bearings to go bad.
Why would i have to go back to the stock belt? It isnt directly connected to the blower. I figured the main belt will still rotate the cogged supercharger belt but there wont be any charger to spin.

I would be safe and just use the stock belt anyway. No reason to have anything negative happen. Belt takes 10 mins to change.

If they dont need you to send in the Jackshaft . You can just add a filter to the end of the IC pipe and run fine . If you have larger injectors it will more than likely run really rich when you try to give it to much gas at once .

Vortech says two weeks . Expect up to a six week wait to get your blower back .

Whatever you do, don't run a filter on one of the IC pipes if you're using bigger injectors. I was running 550cc and when I took out my blower and put in a filter on one of the pipes I was running super rich. So rich, in fact, that my fuel trim became pegged and my exhaust was smoking from too much fuel. I actually had carbon flakes coming out of my tailpipes and my exhaust sounded like it was about to explode. It also smelled like burned gas.

I used a very thin filter . But your right .Biggger injectors will run really rich . You have to keep you foot out of it and gradually build up speed to drive it .
