Default HPC Vs Jet-Hot

Dear members,

I have plans to send my exhaust manifolds, housings, and pipes, to get coated. I was wondering who has better coating system HPC or Jet-Hot. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I think that both are going to be top notch coatings and I think that the performance gains between the two will be minimal if any.

from what I understand, HPC is the better of the two. Jethot was started from a couple employees that left HPC to start up jethot

I had all my parts done at jet hot and quality def. was top notch and it def. has an affect on engine bay temps. Worth it in my opinion just to have the security of not worrying about too much heat coming off the manifolds and melting wires ect. near by.

Why not just buy heat wrap? Itd be cheaper and likely more reliable.

heat wrap will eventually weaken the metal, coating it won't

Another problem that I had read about heat wrap is that it can trap moisture and promote rust.

and heat wrap never lasts...it needs to be redone over the course of time

we've used HOC, Jethot, and now don't even use any of it - we use a local powdercoater that does a similar 2000F ceramic coating all have worked out equally well

^^^^
That is what I feel also. I think that ceramic coatings are not going to show EXTREME differences from one brand to the next as long as they are applied properly.

Oh. I didnt know that. I always thought people did the coat cause it looked better than the wrap. I dont see how the wrap can trap moisture if the piping is hot and cools slowly. But if its true then so be it.
I agree with Z1performance however. I'd rather have a local powdercoater do it just incrse any problems come up.
