Default Jet hot questions

Jet-Hot questions...

How much and what level of coating to use? And did you actually go to jet hot or someone else to coat them?

Again, what Z Boy said. They're actually coating mine this week with the 2K for $176. Can't wait to get them on.

MetalZ, you are in Coral Gables, here in Mia?

I sent for the info on Jet Hot but ended up dropping my stuff at Hyperkote in Orlando. They took a week to get headers, HF cats and Y pipe coated. All three things cost me $375, no ship (I dropped them and will pick up). The parts will be here next tuesday or so. If you want to see before you decide, will be glad to bring them to work. I am here on Alhambra...

Oh, also, the Jet Hot people sent me materials and a VHS video. If you want those you can have them also... If you email them from the web site and ask for a quote they send you the info.

The JETHOT 2K coating is smooth on the inside, less air turbulance and rough/eggshell on the outside, which creates a larger surface area for cooling.
This is my thread with before and after shots...figure I'll save a little bandwidth

Is the Jet-Hot 2000 just as scratch/damage resistant as the Jet-Hot sterling? In reading the Jet-Hot page, most of their claims about durabilty appear to be made only on the sterling product.

Most likely their the same as far as durability...the 2k looks and feels as if it's powder coated and not just sprayed on. It could be sprayed and baked though? Either way, it looks as if I would have to take a chisel to get it to scratch off. A wrench brushing or banging against it will only mare it and not cause it come off, IMO. I will know soon enough after I install my headers and HF cats in a few weeks

go with the 2k for best results....comes in only three colors but you can't hardly see the headers anyways

I will be reinstalling my OEM exhaust manifolds w/ the Turbonetics ST. Will Jet Hot coating it be worth it for improved performance or should I just leave it alone? The cost is about $200 + shipping.
Thanks,
Jeff
