question about greddy TT
hey guys, i just had a few questions cuz i was about to buy the Greddy TT kit. OR the turbonetics single.
can anyone tell me if the stock cams and pistons on the 350z are safe to handle the hp when i get the kit installed?
AND, if money isnt a problem what should i get instead. the turbonetics single, or the greddy TT?
i looked into both of them. they both kindve compare to the hp it comes with the stock boost. but the greddy comes with bigger injectors, so would i be safe by upping the boost to maybe 10psi?

CAMS aren't the issue.
Either kit installed correctly is fairly safe on the engine. Tuning and installation being the #1 priority, since many have pushed the stock engine to about 450whp with fairly decent success.
If money was no object a properly equipped GReddy will provide more opportunity for more power, but if money were no object, you'd get the engine built right from the start and not talk about worrying about stock boost and internals.
So if you're looking for the safest cheapest kit...maybe APS. I've had my Greddy TK on stock for over a year and have had zero problems. But mine is installed correctly and it's not a tuning issue.

It'll be cheaper in the long run to get forged internals. If you don't believe me, then ask the forum member "Alberto".
Then, I'll direct you to Sharif at Forged Performance. This guy is a tuning and boost GOD!

Depends on your definition of safe I guess. Considering I now have over 60k miles on my Z with the out of box Stage 1 Turbonetics kit on my bone stock motor I'd say my car is pretty safe.
stock boost 4 either kit is safe.....if tuned correctly like everyone has said.......10PSI mite b the limit of the stock block...and stock internals......especially if u were looking to run 10psi as a DD........but if u have the money....a fuel upgrade..I.E. fuel pump, larger injectors, and return system would b smart, as well as new forger pistons and rods, pleanty of info is out on this forum, jus gotta search 4 it.......hope all goes well w/ your decision....good luck!!!

its true, it saves so much time to do it right the first time and have peace of mind. compared to blowing the stock motor-then what do you do?
But if ok with 400ish area don't bother buiding it.

and joe... if ur motor blows... what are you gona doo... drop another $1500-2000 for rebuild and then buy the internals that you ****ed then? i'd rather get all of that done in the begging so you dont have to worry about it

im not turning my car into a complete drag car or anything, i have no interest for that at all. i just wanna beat some cars on the street haha. idk how to say it. i just dont want my engine to blow up or anything from the pressure it'd be running with.
bottom line, if i were to get the greddy TT kit, it says factory psi is 7. @385rwhp i think. so if i were to bump it up to maybe 9psi, would i need to worry about my engine blowing if i'ma daily driver?

The car has been boosted for over 2 years now. I daily drive it, before the tune the car was was runing on 6.5psi of boost. After the tune I drive it with 8psi and it's a fun car to drive! Tuning makes the difference of the world, Stock block is fairly strong. I'm talking to Sam@GT Motorsports about an engine build up.

Going up to 7psi requires a fuel pump, and over that....built.
