Default Redline question

hey guys i was just thinking the other, day obviously im happy with the power my car has made. since its a Vortech it's making power all the way to redline because of the way its built and its purpose. well my 03 redline is 6600? i believe? anywho would it be wise to do the re-flash and have them raise the redline to 7100-7200ish? maybe more dunno the cutoff for the flash.... I would assume I'd make a bit more power from the supercharger ,plus i have cams. i'm more concerned with the supercharger setup though.

If it did, my othe question would be, would this be more dangerous on the stock block going into higher rpms? read sig for mods/#'s. any info on this matter would be appreciated. thanks!

it would definitely be more dangerous on ur stock block, a lot of people think its best to leave the rev limiter where it is.....your decision though.

With 448 rwhp on stock block...raising the limiter would be very foolish. I think Alberto (when he had the TN kit) raised his rev limiter w/ 396 whp and blames that for is engine going.

Don't do it!! Even with my built block I would not go more then 7000RPM's. You need upgraded valvetrain.

I had mine raised to 7200 just for peace of mind.I always shift around 6200-6500 when I'm racing because thats where my car stops making power anyways.Believe it or not I have bounced it off the limiter a couple of times because I was not paying attention, which is not a good thing. So I'm glad I did increase it because at 6600 it would be TOOOO close to my shift points.............and then KABOOM
