I would recommend the HKS EVC VI or V, Blitz SBC ID, or Apexi AVC-R

I use the EVC6, while the EVC5 was much easier to use the new functions of the EVC6 are great, It took me a while but now I know that BC in and out. As far a functionality they both preform the same, just the new EVC 6 has much more features.

Don't know if the Fcon works like the utec, but in my case with the utec, the VDC does have some problems, at least it seems so, as it cannot cut fuel (or so it seems) so when I break traction in the rear the VDC uses the brakes to control "fishtailing" but since it cannot control fuel, the compensation is not perfect (it is only using brakes to my knowledge) and I get a side to side "wiggle" that was not present without the utec. I would assume the FCON would work the same, unless it has a provision to "cut fuel" based on the VDC signals.

The FCON harness, as it sits, will maintain cruise and traction control features 100%. Some tuners will elect to rewire the TPS, in order to get a slightly more stable throttle signal to the FCON. It really is your choice. All the cars we do, maintain cruise and TCS.

To my knowledge, which of course is limited, TCS is a crude version of VDC. VDC uses various sensors, including a gyroscope, to stabilize the car, using braking and fuel cuts. I think they (TCS and VDC) are two different animals. If you will remember from back in the day, there was debate if VDC could even be used with FI, with some companies and/or tuners saying it had to be turned off (due to the fuel cut issue). This was one reason I hesitated before going to a "piggyback" or replacement EMU, because I knew that I would be losing, at least partially, the benefits of the VDC system that I paid for.
I would find it very interesting if it is true that the FCON maintains full VDC function, and would definitely think about switching from the UTEC if that is a fact. I would think HKS would play this up if it were / is true, because that is a great selling point (maintaining full VDC function).
