To Turbo, or Not To Turbo?
Well, I've been considering investing in a turbo for some time now. Part of me says buy it!
But the reasoning side of me says maybe not....
So I'm turn as to what to do... What do you all think? Mind you this is my daily driven Z that I use for work driving around all over the place doing computer service. I can't take too much of a hit on reliability or average mpg here. But I so want the power. My last ride was a '73 Plymouth with a 408" stroked small block, kinda miss the *****-out power.

Turbo that biotch!! Make sure you have a back up car though cause you can assume its going to be in the shop a while. If you go turbo, go with a built block too and do it all at once. You can put turbos on and run low boost then put in a built engine but thats alot of time in the shop and not to mention more work. I say save your money till you can get a built engine and turbos at the same time and have a reliable car to drive around a month or 2 just in case your Z takes longer to install the engine and turbo than expected.
As far as MPG and such, i dont know much about that but i assume you could turn down the boost and get alot better gas mileage but then crank it up when you wanna go ballz to the wall.

Do you have the funds to fix it if it blows? Do you have another car that you can drive when small issues arise on the Z? (issues WILL pop up!!)
If the answer to those questions is no, then don't do it. I'd suggest to just get something faster if you can afford it, or save the money and get something faster or another car that you can drive.

OP-reliabilty and stock block cant go in the same sentence. Those who say they do or can are lying to themselves. If you want to take the chance and have at least $10K to get the car fixed IF/WHEN it breaks then do it. But you already answered that.
