Sounds like someone talked you into parts that you didn't need. I'd bet that they didn't even tune the car after the install, just ran it on the dyno.

Im not implying that anything "shady" went down, all I am saying is perhaps the shop did not have that much experience with the 350Z platform. Now if they charged you for a Dyno tune I would ask them what software they used and ask to see it function and ask what they changed. If they charged you for dyno tuning and did not do any, then they are 100% shady.

I dont think they retuned your car, they likely added in a bunch of fuel across the board to compensate for the higher boost (how much boost are you actually getting btw?) and they charged you for a complete re-tune. That dyno looks horrible. Not to throw salt on a wound but OP, you dont sound very knowledgable at all, and in many cases with certain shops they quickly realize that and take you for a ride. Ask them in an email why you needed to change FMU's and post their reply Im dying to see how they justify that cost. Take a lot of time on these forums and read, read, read, the more you know the better off you'll be. Good luck.

I HAVE ASKED THIM A FEW TIMES IN EMAILS NOW WHATS GOING ON AND THESE ARE THE REPLYS I HAVE GOT.
Shane, no car we have had has hit 400 at the wheels with this combo – if you like, when we get a break, I will get your car on the dyno and we can recheck it –

I still think, from what I have seen with a few clients, and you can check forums, get that computer reflashed and then you can tune the upper rpm range for more power.

Steve
Hi Shea, I will try and find out – I don’t think more than 360 is realistic –

Hmmmm....

Ok when I get home from work today I will post a copy of my dyno that you can show them. I was tuned on a dyno dynamics which reads a bit lower than a dyno jet and I hit 379 on that. My power curve looks quite different than yours as well. We have very similar set ups... Although I have STOCK injectors and STOCK headers. I do have the HKS exhaust and the SSV.

Actually here.... I found a copy of it for you...

Notice the difference.... They actually need to tune your car.

Good Luck and I hope this helps you.

Yeah sounds like this place just puts the car on the dyno and shows you what power you have. Getting a flash will not help you.

If they don't know how, find a shop that will.

If I were you man I would drive a thousand miles to never go back to that shop again. Find someone, somewhere that can do a better job then that, no matter where they are.

You will more then likely remember the better results you will get going somewhere else far longer then you remember how far you drove to get there or what it cost you.

i agree however i cant really get a tune for sealeval or a really moist or worm climate
as im in calgary alberts we are 3500 ft above sea livle and very dry the air is dry and thin
so would a tune somewhere else mess my car up when i come back home?

The SSV is the Kinetix SSV. It replaces the upper and lower plenums. And ...no... I would not suggest you get it actually. I still have it on for shows and such. It actually lost 7-10 tq while keeping the same HP from the Crawford I had on before. I really like the crawford plenum for gains myself. Alot of people however swear by the spacers which is the most economical way to go.

Don't waste your $$ on the SSV if you want better numbers...
