the more you say 'Gurgen', ... the less anyone listens....
Kevin, once again awesome Z with tons of power!!! Hopefully we can see what it will run in the 1/4 mile if this weather will ever cooperate with us. I can't tell you how bummed I was to get rained out. I don't want to continue this off topic conversation about FI hp and altitude but I have to ask one more question to those questioning correction at altitude. Don't get me wrong I also believe that it should not be "100% corrected". I just don't think it should be completely discounted. So my question is, what does our Z produce to the rear wheels to run consistently in the mid to high 120's with a best mph of 131. Race weight of 3750 pounds with driver. And what would be your best guess on Kevin's mph in the quarter at 600 uncorrected. Sorry to carry on the thread jack Kevin but I would really like to hear the answer. Once again awesome Z and can't wait to watch it run down the strip. Jason
Wow NoLimit, you are total idiot for sure.
I have seen Tim's work, or one car that Tim put together, up close and personal, including the wiring on the split second. It was not through a camera. I also personally know of MANY cars which left SFR and went to other places because Tim couldn't fix it. This is what i am basing my comments on, and if others, the owners of the car (e.g. Kamal) want to comment on it further, then they can. This is all that i am at liberty to say.
The more I say the less everyone listens?
The behavior of turbocharged engines at altitude is not extremely simple, and it takes long explanations to convey. All I was trying to do is explain the purpose of SAE correction on dynojets, and it was interpreted as me knocking Kevin's car. Again, this is not what i was doing. I just think that 'builders' which Tim claims to be, and is, are supposed to be held to a higher standard. Yes, I do get carried away and call people names, but this is ONLY in cases where i am right on the facts and that the level of incompetence hits astronomical levels.
Btw, Tim and his lapdog NoLimit there in San Diego, I have not heard of anyone else attacking what i was saying. I still have not heard of anyone challenging me on the facts of what i was saying. Tim and I have had this argument of altitude going for a while, and Tim still refuses to even think about the fact that he can be wrong (which is obvious from his posts).
And about by blown engines.... you are definitely a dimwit Tim... I do not build engines, I had a stock engine blow, and the first built engine (built by Z1 in Georgia with the original unshaved Arias pistons) blow a ring, and a multitude of attempts to fix AEBS sleeved engine (call Dave at AEBS and ask him himself what their own testing was, the sleeves were pressed in incorrectly and two of them were leaking). Where the f*ck did you get 9 blocks from? Shows your level of competence, anyway, nothing new.
NoLimit, this is not just about using only textbook knowledge..what the hell do you do? You speak of textbook knowledge killing people, but one cannot do without textbook knowledge. If you truly know what you are tackling about on the subject, you will know that anything that has to do with "life-saving" devices, as you put it, is at the end of the day 90+% textbook science. That is the beauty of engineering, 100% of it is explainable with science... 100%
Oh yeah, the regurgenator was nice.
EDIT: BTW NoLimit, posting several posts in a row doesn't make your message that much more compelling.

It is an awesomely fast car. And I agree with you, it should not be discounted, there are definitely losses that should be counted in in turbo cars at altitude, they are just nowhere the same as N/A cars.
You can use those calculators, they CAN be pretty close, definitely ok just to give you an idea. I think it'd be in the mid-low 10's in 1/4 mile, but the online calc that i usually use is not up right now. Of course it's all about traction at these levels.
Good luck with the car kevin, and so sorry for the hijack.

If that a fact? Are you sure about this? Many cars? I am asking you this now so you can take your foot out of your mouth. There was only one car that ever left here and that was Kamals and it is back and it wasnt because we couldnt fix it so please read further so you KNOW the TRUTH.One more thing is that I am not only one here at my shop.I have six employees.I do not do everything myself because there are way to many aspects of the business to allow me to do that. I can do everything I said and am willing to do a build off against just about anyone on the planet. There are alot go guys that specialize in certain areas, engine building,tuning,fabrication,etc.....but there are not many people who have the ability to do all of these things very well. I can, that is my gift.so dealwith it Gurgen.I think you are just envious of me because you can only theorize about this and that and I can actually build a car from scratch and then make it run.
As far as Kamals car goes.......it went to a shop for a tune and had a crank sensor problem. The entire motor was torn apart looking for the issue. The issue was not found as far as I know, so now the car is back here so we can put it together and try to resolve the issue. The only reason Kamals car left was to get it tuned and we couldnt do it in a timely manner since it was 1:15am on Thanksgiving EVE when he picked it up! So what other cars of the many that you have seen left because we couldnt fix them? Please list them here with the customers name.We will be waiting for your reply.

Because nobody understands what you are saying except for a few people on these boards,Gurgen. Get that through your thick egotistical head of yours. As a matter of fact, after your post in this thread, one guy was like ok, well even if it is 600WHP, it is still an animal. He obviously had no clue what the hell you are talking about. That is why no one tries toquestion you about the things you say becasue most people dont have the understanding or they dont really care.It is that simple. No limit is not my lapdog, he is just a customer(Every shop has customers that stand by them on these boards) with some of our parts and we treat him fairly and he knows we build some crazy cars here. He has seen them and he has seen enough to know that we build some nice ****.So if anyone has any doubt and you are in San Diego, come by our shop and have a look at what we are doing, bring your camera and take some pictures and post them here for everyone to see. We dont have anything to hide. We just want to build parts and take the Z and the G to the next level. As a matter of fact, if you are in LA and cant make it down here and you want to personally see one of these crazy cars, other then a Nissan or Infiniti, come on up to Bimmerfest on May 5th. Look for the Silver widebody M3 that is getting the most attention out of the 500-1000 cars on display and I guarantee you, it will have one of our stickers on it and I will be standing next to it.And we built it from the ground up.
Gurgen, sitting here and typing is fine and dandy but put your real world calculations to the test.I mean afterall you are a genius and you could certainly read a book and learn how to machine and assemble a motor. Then you could read another book and learn how to fabricate and TIG weld.Shoot read a few books and you can even surpass me at what I do best. And when you think you can surpass me, we can have a build-off and if you can beat me, I will hand over the keys and pinkslip to my 350Ztt and finally you can have a car whose motor is no going to grenade every 2 months

You have admitted to blowing up so many motors it is hard to keep count of so excuse me if the 9 was actually 8 or even 7.Then you went on to blame everyone and their brother except for yourself. You are the type of person that takes no personal repsonsibility for your actions. So deal with the repercussions. The fact is that you have been through more motors on these boards then anyone else in an extremely short amount of time. And by our brief conversation on the phone a year or two ago, when you decided to inspect Tinmans G with your scanner, I have a feeling that you blew your motors by trying to tune your own vehicle using your little OBD-2 scanner and watching your short and long term fuel trims. LOL. Now I Could be wrong but I honestly dont think so.
Oh and finally Gurgen, you started with the personal attacks in your first post on this thread. Calling me an amature and so forth is a personal attack that was initiated by you.If you dont think I am going to respond to your insults, then you just dont know me as well as you think you do.

Actually, you are not sorry for the hijack. You intentionally did it for a reason since you do no like me. Just be honest man.
No that is not why i did it. I already said why i did, to correct misinformation. You gotta understand, i do not say this to knock your product out right...one has to understand that no matter how good a given kit is, there is no way in hell that one kit can make 640whp on 18 psi, and another one 740 at het very same boost setting...the problem in thsi case was that boost setting is misleading at elevation...hence the discussion i put forth on Kevin's first thread...the currect, second, thread, was essentially about SAE correction at altitude, whcih is invalid. And, Tim, you still refuse to understand why that is, instead saying things like "no one is listening", etc... If you ask me, that is not something i would look for in a person who I am about
Yes I can read a book on how build engines, etc...but that would not make me a builder or a fabricator. Experience is what really counts here. But, experience is a not all there is, it also has to do with the person doing the work always being willing and able to learn...we have come a long way in the last 20 years in engine design, surely someone who has been garnering exsperience over the last 30 years (since that era) and have learned NOTHING in the last 20, or even 10, years, is a poor choice for a car builder.
And I do take responsibility for my actions, which of these is my fault, leaky sleeves, poorly (originally) engineered Arias pistons, or ECU reflashes....NONE of these did I have anythign to do with, other than taking my car to a given shop, paying them, and expecting the work to be done right. This is obviously a non-issue, as I am NOT a builder, but a very educated/researching consumer.
That's all i will say. Let's drop it, our feelings for each other are clear. The only people that matter to me are the ones that are thoughtful enough to want to learn what i have to contribute, and i have done a lot of that in the last three years.

dude, seriously, .. If i thought of you more than some fat kid with something to prove to the world, ... I'd take some time to make a good reply....
Come out to some REAL WORLD (I mean competitions, not 'fun' events) events and we can talk. Or, .. just stay in your box and feel secure with what you think you know.....

You have proved to me even further that you will forever be a dumba$$ that sits in a closed room and knows nothing of what it takes to make something succeed in a real time/real world environment. Like I said, if you are really interested in being schooled in areas where your "text book" answers are completely wrong, .... not some 90% off, ... I'm willing to talk about it in person, it's nothing i'm willing to post on a public forum.....

You claim to take responsibility for your actions, but you try to dismiss your getting personal; you wrap up your motives in nice soft and fluffy clothing: you have to correct misinformation.
And I find your commentary on the wiring of the split second box quite funny actually. I've heard from multiple people that your car is junk. Absolute ****. Sure, it makes power, but I've heard comments to the effect of "I'd never own that piece of ****, regardless of the power."
You also have a tendency to go over the top in your enthusiasm for a given topic, bot for short spans of time. You like to latch on to some product, be it a some supercharger vaporware or piggyback system. When you find a product you like, you are a very convincing advocate, so much so that you dog everything else on the market. But after a few weeks, you discover some newer, better product and your previous favorite becomes another product to bash. I remember when you were absolutely in love with the Greddy EU.
I've seen this behavior multiple times over the past few years. Combined with your sniping in this and other threads, you've lost all credibility, with me at least.

I agree!
Gurgen, Dude you are like the dumbest smart guy on these forums!!! I just don't get where you end up pulling so many hits on someone you dont personaly know. One of my good friends works there with Tim and his crew and they have done their best to help advance the tunning ablities of the VQ community. You need to take several gigantic steps back and put a leash on you ego! You lost so much face...its like you commiting Harikiri. And your lengthy posts complicating the fact that someone was getting support for his work, and you get bent out of shape cause of a minor pet peeve of yours. Its just assinine. Damn, the VQ has been out 5 years and the tunning of the Horsepower has slowly gotten past 500, now with more advances in the Nissan lineup with the HR, with everyone trying their best to get the most out of their sportscar. There is nothing to learn from your pestering insults and confused thoughts. The best thing to do when tunning, engine building, maintenence, ect... is Keep It Simple Stupid. The VQ is complicated enough with the fly-by-wire throttle, numerous sensors all tring to keep the engine withing set paramaters, and not to forget with limited engine compartment space to do it in. I hope to Hell nothing bad happens to you. Cause aint nobody I know going to help you!!!!

Yes, I did lose face, and yes I did say things that i regret. And yes, i did fall victim to my own pet peeves, but this still DOESN:T CHANGE THE FACT THAT I was/am right about what i was saying. If that gets lost in the shuffle of my own emotions, so be it, it's unfortunate and it's partly on me.
Be that as it may, but I If the thoughts are confusing to you, i'd suggest you read it again, or not read at all and claim ignorance. Keeping it simple, doesn't work, stupid (to use the same tone as you did). If it was simple, it would be common knowledge, and people like Tim would understand it. I try to get into a discussion that isn;t simple, and show things with examples. What you are saying is almost laughable.
