Default turbonetics reflash n/a question....

So i found a shop, cantrell motorsports thats ony 100 miles from me.
My issue is the down time in seattle while i wait for the ecu to come back.
Is it possible without hurting anything to get the reflash, drive the car 100 miles to seattle without the kit on?

I would imagine it might run rich. Is this an option?

uhhh... there's no way this could cause his motor to blow...

If there's no turbo on the car and you're running the reflash, it will simply run VERY rich if you get in the mid-high range RPM's. I'd say you should be ok, just shift at 2500 rpms and drive like a granny. As always, you're doing this at your own risk.

You should be ok but if it was my car I would tow it. Hell if you have Triple A they will tow up to 100 miles for free.

Im thinking the whole towing across borders may be an issue. I may consider a used ecu or try to borrow one somewhere.

Whats a used 03 ecu worth?

Its not that simple either. The NATS system will require the ECU and key be coded for use together. You could buy another ECU if you like but you'll have to have the dealer code your key into it before it will work.
