Default New Numbers 540/535...then wrecked

So I took my car to Pro-Dyno which is a reputable shop in my area to get some Dyno Jet numbers since my car is a little more broken in and all I had were the heart break numbers from Sharif's dyno haha.

Went to the dyno, did three pulls, and the 3rd pull was 540.6 rwhp and 535.3 rwtq. I have the dyno sheet, just no scanner, but I will try and get it up here because there are bound to be non-believers, you all know how it goes.

So after it's off the dyno, I take it for a spin. My friend and I are driving down the road, probably about 65mph in a 45mph, and the stop sign is coming up. I gave myself plenty of time to slow down, after all, I'm not a complete idiot. Well I get on my brakes to slow down like I normally would...and the brake pedal damn near hits the floor...the car isn't slowing down. I lift off the brakes and then stand on the pedal again and the brakes lock up!!!!??!!

So I'm sliding towards the stop sign that is right in front of a busy *** road, slide passed the stop sign, slide into the middle of the road, cross the road, hit the ditch. The airbags didn't go off, so I backed my car out of the ditch and drove it out of the way...maybe 150ft, not even thinking about my oil pressure or perhaps lack there of. I immediately turned my car off and get out...coolant and oil are leaking everywhere.

I get it flatbedded to the shop I work at and we took the undertray off...so far, a new intercooler, radiator, right front sway bar endlink, right front tire, new bumper, and NEW FLUCKING BRAKES ( AP RACING to be exact ) will be in order. I sure hope the motor wasn't starved for oil... We're gonna take the whole front end off today and try and see what else it wrong. Not quite sure what do as far as insurance goes, I have $20,000 of additional coverage on my insurance, but the only way I will go through them is if I find out the motor is FLUCKED.

I'll try and get some pictures on here soon. I don't want anyone coming on here with negative comments. I don't really need that right now and my passenger, who will probably post in here, can vouch for that there was nothing I could possible do

That is all...

-Derek

Man, I'm really, really sorry to hear this. I can't imagine the frustration after just getting your car back from Sharif. Good luck with the repairs and here's hoping you can get a break on the repairs.

On an insurance note, what company offers this additional coverage to you?

i know you're not joking, but dude, i swear this seems like it should be a joke... i can't believe this, bro... my condolences to you...

most people who ascertain newfound power such as ours end up putting it in the ditch due to inability to control said power... it sucks to know that this happened through no fault of your own... i continually worry about getting out of control with the new power, so i drive carefully... never once have i thought about my brakes failing! now i will...

tell me, did you have stock brakes? i can't remember...

I know it won't be the same.....but you're more than welcome to ride up with me. I would need to blow off some steam after something like this.

Why did they fail in the first place??? Sounds like air in the lines from the way you said you had no pressure, then they locked...

sometimes after you dyno your car your abs system is screwed up and you need to let it reset i wonder if this is what caused your accident..

A complete loss of brake pressure would be odd even if the ABS system was freaking out. My guess is there was some air in the lines that worked itself out and then just got tons of pressure on the second pump locking up the brakes. Just my guess. I'm really sorry to hear this bro. Your car just getting done and all must make it harder. Don't sweat the small stuff man. It could have ended up a LOT worse. Be thankful you and your friend have your lives still. Cars can be repaired. I'm sure you'll come back even stronger this time...
