vortech FAQ: read this before asking vortech questions
So u going to buy Mike's old block??? I wish he had this for sale before my 2nd build
no resistors. those ECU's can support the load.
ya, going to pick up Mike's motor. It will prolly sit til i have everything for my next build. But it might be interesting to see how much hp i could get with my SC and a 200 shot behind it!

The non-rev up new belt configuration requires a Gates 80 1/8" belt. It was posted many times that people use a 79.5" belt and the part number was even posted.
The 79.5" belt wouldn't even fit with my 3.12 pulley. it's a g35, i don't think that makes a difference but it was too short. I tried and 2 other mechanics tried to get it on there and no go. 80 1/8" works just fine for the 3.12 pulley though.
maybe the 79.5" is only needed for the 2.87 pulley then.

I can't speak from experience on vortech filters, but it looks like a gauze style filter media like k&n. I cleaned my CAI k&n about every oil change on my accord.

I ordered longer than vortech filter(k&n) from autopartswarehouse but they canceled my order without telling me or ask. I have a part number at home. But u can put cai or k&n or filter on fi section, you will find a part number.
Edit: Part Number
Filter : RX-4140
Crank breath filter: 62-1020

Anyone know why belt breaks? I know if belt was too tight, it can cause break the belt. but other reason can cause break belt? After install 2.87 and old belt, it was tight as when I had 3.12. I never break the belt with 3.12...and I wasn't even drive hard after install 2.87 with this belt...

I used 80 1/8 gate belt on my 3.12 with gtm setup, so I bought a 79.5 inch belt for my 2.87 setup...79.5 was short...I just used 80 1/8 belt with 2.87 (same size with 3.12)

The other might be belt slip. Going to the 2.87 you might have some slip which would shorten it's life, but not enough slip to make it squeal. also look to see if somehting might be rubbing on it. That sucks the belt just broke.
About the filter, since it's the same material as k&n i would say a k&n filter recharge kit from an auto parts store should work just fine.

being tight is one good reason.

When I bought my Vortech kit new it came with a 79.5 inch belt. Maybe Vortech made a change to the belt they supply now. Also my belt fit fine with the 3.12. When I upgraded to the 2.87 and GTM pulley mod I used the 79.5 belt and it was a perfect fit.

So u mean u used same belt size with 3.12 and 2.87?
that's wild. wait, could the difference be that mine is a non-revup?
