Jorge (Gman2004) has given you some very good suggestions, but I'd also consider the Greddy EVO TT exhaust. It's a 2.75", so a little better flowing than the 2.5" but you also get a good compromise on the sound by it being a little more quiet than the 3" APS. I ordered it based on all the good reviews of G/Z owners that run it and also some great sounding clips.

Definitely go with GTM for the install and keep the boost low while on your stock motor. No reason to risk blowing it for an extra 30-40whp. As Peter from APS has suggested and stated on other forums, they've never let a stock motor Z/G with an APS TT kit installed, leave their own shop with more than 360-380whp.

Good luck with everything!

Forgot about that one. Does Greddy make it for the Sedan? I loved the look and sound my my regular Greddy EVO exhaust, but it didn't flow worth chit. I would have definately considered the EVO TT is it was available when I needed a better flowing exhaust.

^^^Nevermind the oil pressure gauge. I'd get a water temp gauge before doing the oil pressure gauge. The stock water temp gauge is a POS and doesn't move until you get somewhere around 220 degrees.

Question: why a water guage before the oil pressure guage? this is a stupid quesition (I think), but wouldn't you be concerned about oil pressure dropping? If so, why does the water guage take precedent over the oil guage?

well, I've also narrowed my shops down to two places (VRT and GTM). They're both closer, and I've seen LOTS of happy people from both shops. Gonna check out both places next week. Just trying to decide between the JWT or APS kits...

I saw Mike's G35 at the Stillen G35/350Z meet...all I can say is HOLY S**t that thing sounds mean as hell

IMO oil pressure is more important

not to take anything away from Mr A and VRT ... but i love what GTM is doing for the community... you can't go wrong with either shop.. but my vote is GTM and an APS TT ...

actually i would go with either an APS Extreme or a Greddy TT Kit.. you never loose the thirst for power.. and those two kits will bring you up to 800 whp

LOL, but my wallet isn't as deep as my thirst. Plus, an eventual 420-450rwhp is PLENTY for me. I drove my friend's WRX that put around 420ish at the wheels, and it was scary fast.

yeah 800whp is a bit much. There becomes a point where it's more of a numbers addiction than actually being useful. I suppose it's one thing if you're trying to build a drag car that'll do 8's or 9's though

I've never had a problem with oil pressure dropping and I've never read any posts on this or any other forums of oil pressure dropping, but I have experienced and read many overheating problems. I do have an oil pressure gauge, but that's because I have a 3 gauge pod that has a boost and water temp gauge. Since my FCON has it's own wideband I had an extra hole in my pod so I went with the oil pressure gauge.

even though the stock coolant temp gauge is worthless, it at least will tell you if your coolant temp is extremely hot or not.

The oil pressure gauge basically lets you know if you have oil in the car or not and if you don't have enough oil, stuff is going to get hurt - be it the engine or turbos/supercharger. It kinda mimics the oil temp gauge though in that the pressure drops as the temps go up

ideally you'd have all 3 anyway

True, but you could just do it the old fashion way and check your oil every time before driving the car.

it gets old really quick.. you get to the power real fast... sometimes i wonder if my car is losing HP.. then i get into a race and notice the power isn't gone.. i am just use to it..

anyway.. getting a Greddy TT Kit or an APS Extreme kit is going to cost you around the same as the APS TT Kit

Reluctantly, I have to agree with you. After tooling around in my truck, the G seems soo much faster...then I get used to it.

Also, I'm having a hard time finding info on the APS Extreme kit; what are the main differences? Is it a better FMU, bigger injectors and fuel pump?

yeah having a 2nd slower car that you mainly drive a lot of people consider one of the "best mods" you can get since it'll make your Z/G feel way faster every time you get in it

Well, just got off the phone w/ GTMotorsports (spoke to Nick, then Sam gave me a call) and they are real cool guys. I talked to them about my dilemma (Vortech or APS...stay 'CARB legal' or 'F CARB laws'), and they gave me some real good answers. I also gave them my goals for rwhp and my budget, and they told me what they can do. Going to their shop next week and take a look at some of their customers rides. Ooohhh boy, I cannot wait!
