Default Vortech power

Vortech claims 440 hp at the crank for the revup. Just wondering if anyone has any actual numbers out of the box for this kit for the revup. Cheers. I have searched, but everyone i've seen has been with a tune. I would like to see one out of the box.

That would be around 370 at the wheel and that sounds right. Compare with my numbers below with a non revup and 10lb pully.

that's only roughly 344 whp (transmission loss) which is right on the money.

(most G's baseline at 223 whp but come with around 285 hp to the crank), so (223/285) x 440 = 344.256 whp. Correct me if I'm wrong.

i don't think drivetrain losses on a RWD car are over 22%

I agree more with the 370whp estimate if the car is tuned

AAM stage 1 fuel return
walboro 255
test pipes
3" exhoust
5/16 spacer
re-flash
a real good tune from Mike at AAM
440cc injectors

My setup is the safest I beleive. since I only have a stock block I wanted everything to be reliable and safe. hence did the research and chose vortech for 400rwhp goal.

I want to do headers and a kinetix manifold in the future and maybe cams. But I'm a DIY guy so anything to do in the engine im iffy.

$hit! There have been tuners that have flown to europe before to tune cars. Im pretty sure we can get someone at performance factory to take a ride to spain.

none the less seriously I see your delema. If no tuning is available I would go with the vortech full 7psi kit. its a direct bolt on and safe out of the box. you will be in the 310-330rwhp range

In your opinion, was the return fuel necessary? What pulley are you running?

im running 9psi so yes the fuel return and walboro is necessary past 6500rpm

if you stay below them your stock pump and injectors are maxing out at this point. I have a stock block and tend to keep it. I wanted to be super safe and the Z is my DD and I take it to car shows every weekend I put over 2k a month in miles on it and I go redline 1 time a day at least. And it has been 7k now and still rides like day 1 with the vortech. Im loving it and my mind is clear since I know its geting enough fuel. My redline after a reflash is 7100rpm so there is more power up on top.

Hmmm . . . yeah I am also curious to see if anyone has dynoed their Vortech SC (full kit) Z/G with the RevUp motor right out of the box. I am very close to going with this set up myself.

rev thanks for asking the question and double for you muz for answering...

i have the same problem. i'm half way 'round the world and i've seen the work they do here... let me just say this one thing... "we have the same wheel you want. oh your car needs a 5x114.3and we only have 4 bolt patterns? no prob! we'll just drill another hole here...." umm yea.... these guys aren't going to do my tune. i have plenty of other fun/horror stories if anyone's interested.

yup, my mind's made up. i'm going to go for the vortech out the box since i have to go the diy route. now who do i buy from? hehehe... at least that'll be easy.

thanks again guys!
