Depends on your idea of streetable. My stage 5 Spec 6 puc clutch is streatable to me, I just have to relearn the engagement point and its characteristics. Yeah its a pain but I would not call it a full out drage clutch that you have to slip in order for it to heat up and work properly. To me thats not streetable.

Good choice though. Should be closer to what your looking for.

Good move You cant go wrong with Carbonetics Twin or Triple Clutch. I went with the triple and it is the perfect daily driver or perfect track system.

We are talking about 500+ WHP clutches.. Your ORC 409 is streetable and well mannered, because it's not an extreme clutch that can handle 500+WHP.
My nismo+JWT single plate clutch is very streetable as well, but it won't hold 500+WHP...

The reason clutches get hard to drive is the presure plate design mainly,
When you change the pressure plate load and make it higher you also change how Quick or Violent the clutch behaves.
When you get to the point where the pressure plate is about maxed out to hold the power with a cheap clutch facing it gets Very Violent upon release which some people describe an ON-OFF type of clutch with little forgivness.

We use a moderate pressure plate load with a far superior clutch lining (feramic)
We let the superior clutch material with very good pressure plate design hold the power rather than just making the pressure plate as stiff as we can so the a cheap clutch facing material can hold the TQ.

you are going to like it, I have about 10,000 miles on mine and it still feels and holds the same as when I had it put in. I also drive on mine everyday and its not bad at all (wife has a hard time).

How much harder (~%) would you say it is over stock?

I'm trying to decide on one of these or an OS Giken twin plate and selling my UR flywheel.

Has anyone tried the SPEC twin plate clutches? They are very low price for a twin plate...

I tried to order an OS Giken but they are on backorder.

I was looking at those twin plate spec clutches too. The only reason the carbonetics are so expensive is because they use the carbon clutch discs. a twin plate clutch with standard materials should be too expensive.....like the spec units.

The SPEC ones start ~$1200 and go to ~$1600 depending on plates you pick.

Andrew, I think that would be fine for my setup don't you? I would be very happy if I could get a clutch for ~$1400 that will still feel good on the street and last for a while.

Thoughts?

I just ordered one from SPEC this morning.
http://www.specclutch.com/

I got their super twin SS trim because after talking with them it should be more than enough for my situation and very nice on the street. They even gave me a nice discount!

It should be on the car early next month. I will post up a review then.

Tim,

I emailed them earlier in the week, and they recommended the SS35PT. Is that the one you ordered?
Here's a pic they sent me. This is not the G/Z clutch, but it is very similar, I was told.

Yeah that is the one I ordered. But now I just found a great deal on another one so I'm trying to cancel this order. I got it for well under retail from them because they wanted pictures of my car. If I can't cancel it do you want it Andrew? I'll have to make sure but I think it was ~$1080.
