This is typical things that happen with going FI. Just go get the code pulled to see what it is. Maybe nothing serious. Maybe just an O2 sensor. This is what I've had since I brought my FI home. It's expected. But have checked out for a peace of mind, in case it is serious.

It's pretty useless to ask for advice when you don't even know the code! Autozone does it for free my friend!

No it does come up once in a while on the JWT TT Kit... happens here in the northeast on all the customer cars when the weather changes and the atmosphere, more specifically air density changes. but it really is nothing 90% of the time... just do the manual reset (i think it can be found here somewhere, just do a search).

the question really would be... whoever did the install, did they put the 02 sensors back on the cats/test pipes?

We see this code all the time at my shop with all types of cars.Make sure all the lines running to the evap cannister are connected and not loose and make sure your gas cap is on tight(3 clicks).

Spend the $50 and buy a code scanner.

Default OK for a year then light popped on

I have an 04 350z with the APS single turbo, APS dual exhaust, APS down pipes and the Tall Boy. After driving 1000 trouble free miles I installed the APS SG package. The car isn't used that much I now have 5200 miles on the car at this point. From out of no place the "Service engine soon" light popped on. I checked the stock ECU and it pointed me to the Air/fuel meter, I reset the computer but it came back on within a few miles of driving.
I took the car to Nissan where it was checked out and determined not to be the Stock A/F meter. The DCT results for A/F sensor (B1) is "P1273" with B2 putting out a code of "P1283". Any input you guys could provide would be very helpfull, I wish APS would responded to e-mail.

Thanks
CD

Either your gas cap is open slightly, or more likely....your fuel pump assembly has a small leak from the installation process back there.

I have an 04 roadster that I just had a JWT TT installed in, I was having the exact same code. The problem on mine was the boost sensing line from the plennum to the FMU in the tank. What happensis that once the car is started the ecu will wait around 30 seconds and then it will try and put the evap canister under a vaccume via the plennum. If the sensor attached to the cannister does not see the correct vaccume level it "Thinks" that there is a leak in the system and trip the CEL code P0440 or P0442. The boost sensing line is allowing air to leak into the tank. On mine it was more prevalent when the tank was full. Another indicator was when lifting off the throttle the bypass valve would open and I would get this intense smell of fuell if I had the top down or windows open.

Take it back to the installer and have it checked, it's a real easy fix.

I took it to the Dyno shop in santee, they wanted 285 bucks for an hour on the dyno. I wanted some time to adjust the boost controller. What's the normal cost for a dyno?

Odd the whole year I was in Virginia with my car I never threw a CEL, come to think of it I have only thrown a CEL once since going FI and that was a few weeks ago when I was running some 110 octane.

I don't know, I usually get it as part of the tuning cost. There is shop right here next to my work in Lake Elsinore with a dyno machine. Danzio.

That's pretty expensive for an hour of dyno time...no tuning. Most shops charge about $125-$200/hr, depending on the area.
