Default Finding a Tuner.

Ok, I have tuner here 10 mins away from me but they are known to be a EVO/STI/SRT/Honda expert. they have tune a couple of 350Z but not to the extent of some of the Vendors here. If I have a Honda I'll will no doubt trust my car with them coz they've been around for years and very proven shop. They use Dyno Dynamics Low Boy 450 All wheel drive dynomometer (DD450) for tuning. They have some nice proprietary stuff that they developed in house.

My question is can I trust them my 350z? Is there really a big difference in term of tuning with different engine? If I was building my engine then I'll definitely go to GTM or Forge... It is really nice to go to a place 10 mins away for minor stuff.

it is all a different way of doing the same thing, a lot of tips and tricks come along with the territory though.

i would rather see you go to a 350 z expert though instead of going somewhere and not being happy then having to go to a Z expert for the second time around...

/\ you have a point but the shop that supposedly a 350Z expert doesn't have the best customer service They installed my Turbo that I bought form them but they don't respond well to my inquiries to the point that they don't even respond. sometimes I really need to track them down to get an answer. I feel that I'm just a little bug to them since I didn't spend $20K+ on them and they rather cater to the big dougs.. At least I know a few of the people from my local shop and will be easier to track them I thought engine pretty much function the same

No_Lag Come and visit us at Function:TUNED. Take a look at our website www.functiontuned.com. We have an in-house DynoDynamic dyno and are very experiance with the 350Z platform. Many members here can vouch for us or you can ask in the Mid-Atlantic Section for a more local response.

It will really be nice to go to a shop that is 10mins away that I have some sort of relationship I'll talk to them and see how they are and ask them some question and see if their advice are in the same path as what I've been seeing in this forum, that will tell me if they are in the right path. The good thing with them is that they know UTEC and been tuning them already If this don't work then your shop will be my next stop

hey man whats up?? i noticed that your in NY. What are you using as far as engine management? If your looking for someone who does 350z look at xxtuning and ics performance. Last time i was there they were tuning a 350z with a greddy TT kit on it. They were running a utec. If your using the UTEC any tuner that is familar with it can tune the car as long as you give them a target boost and air fuel. Although it is hard to say at that point if the car is safe because you still need to see what the map is calling for. I have owned a wrx for 3 years and have been to numerous tuners ill just say that people that work on subies and evos are extremely knowledgable car guys. If i do decide to mod my G, which i dont know yet cause none of the mods really seem to make real power except FI, i will be letting the guys who tuned my wrx tune my g35.

i was kinda wondering the same thing, there is a shop here at the speedway that does TT GTO's/ vetttes, camaros, grand nationals, they seem to be great at runing all these high power cars with turbos and superchargers and cust service seems good while talking to them but they have only done one 350z w/ aps tt kit. can i trust someone that does this kind of tuning even though they are not a z specialist? there are no real z tuners here in town.

I go back and fort but mainly DC. I have Utec right now but I just needed a place that I can go quickly just in case I need some minor tune. I know with VQ and FI the sweet spot is around 11.3 to 12 at WOT so I guess I can just tell them to be close to that. My friend has an Integra type R stock motor (High Compression) and they tuned it to 10psi and guaranteed it to be safe I told my friend to stay below 7psi but still that is high for that kinda engine and either way he still has his motor and he beat the crap out of it. Of course they made him buy so many add-on to make it safe but it still alive

By the way his shop was the first 10's Integera on the record but got it to 9.99 but was not recorded, back then when B18 was the chit
