it is usually the weld where the tabs meet the up-pipe that cracks. that what happened on the 3 I have seen.

Not this time. My tab is still in tact.

Sorry guys no pics today, I was in a hurry leaving work and left my camera there. I will post pics though and show everyone what happened.

My tabs weren't what broke either. Twice it was in the middle of the accordian pipe connected to the wastegate and once on one of the welds of the up-pipe. Needless to say Turbonetics will take care of you

Are you talking about the flex joint on the wastegate recirc pipe? That actually broke IN HALF on me, but I went with an open dump, so out it went

That sounds like what happened to me exactly, but both at the same time. I'm sure one broke first and the other couldn't hold but none the less, they both are broke now.

How long was the car installed before that happened? I agree the pipe shouldn't break but it had to be under some good stress to break in such short order...

Do you think its possible the piping was jolted in your wreck?

Could have, it was a pretty good jolt to the side. The kit has been on my car almost exactly a year. You would think that I would have had a leak afterwards though right. And I kept a close eye on eveything on my car for awhile after getting my car back on the road.

Yeah it happened at the same time for me too, and then the new flew pipe broke a couple months later. My car sounded like a broke a$$ diesel truck.

..yup, open dump... = no problem there. My car is not much of a daily driver anymore anyway... its moving in the direction of strictly track use.

hey like everyone has said; Turbonetics will take care of you!

Has anyone ever had issues with the OLD piping cracking? I was running that for 2 years with no problem and have never heard of it having problems. Maybe it's just something with the newer wastegate piping.

It developed a small leak a few days after I had taken it apart to tighten an A/C compressor bolt I found made it's way loose. I used RTV when I initially installed the kit only on the flange from that pipe to the u-bend pipe that connects to the wastegate discharge because the kit was missing a gasket, and I didn't have time to wait for another to ship out. It was difficult to separate, so I may have had a hand in it's failure

Well I found my reciept, and the date I bought my kit is June 6th 2006. That means I am technically out of my warrantee. Hopefully TN will help a loyal customer out.

Alright just to give the final results to everyone here.

I sent eveything in to TN. They sent 2 pipes back to me and one ended up being the wrong pipe. Miscommunication somewhere. So I sent them back and talked to Ed and he sent the correct pipes along with new moounting hardware and new heat wrap for the pipes.

Overal I'm very pleased with TN, my car is back on the road and enjoying boost again.

Congrats on getting the car up and running again and glad to hear Ed took care of you.

So is your transmission, driveshaft, spark plugs, clutch, brake pads, tires, and every other mechanical part on this planet. A good solid install and tune will prevent almost any issue from coming up.
