You all are wrong about heat being an issue in making power on this kit. With a properly wrapped and blanketed setup the heat transfer in the engine bay is minimal. That small stretch of piping with any sort of heat applied wouldn't make much difference anyway as the charge flows through it for such a short length. The only thing I see that heats up the pipe is where it bolts to the timing cover, not where it passes the turbo.

Besides, if you're saying this is an issue then it must be an issue on that new Power labs kit too? The last I saw it ran just as close to the turbo without even a heat shield. I seriously think people here are just making this shi* up and claiming its an issue.

The power curve on that original dyno is caused by a few things. To make power to redline you're at least going to need to up the size of the turbine housing, get a larger up pipe, and a larger downpipe. The guy referenced in the original link did none of these. He swapped out a slightly larger compressor wheel and expected it to make a difference.

All I see in this thread is a bunch of a people talking out their *** when they have no idea what it takes to really make power on this kit. I gauruntee that you drop some nice cams (C2's) in there on a built block with the stock kit and turbo and you'll be in the 500whp range. You might not make it to redline, but you'll be around that.

Don't try to argue this with me because there is nothing to argue. This is the unbiased truth.

Maybe sometime in the far away future the G might increase in value as the Supra has. LOL

word...after the money I've dumped into the Z....I'm keeping it forever.

If 500whp is possible with the TN your car will most likely be the first. How much longer before it's done?

Of course we are in your mind you are the only one who is ever right. Only time you agree with someone is when they second something you already stated like zivman on the unsleeved block. Im not even gonna get involved with you.

I don't know how to interept that, but I wasn't being sacarstic about you hitting 500whp. And yes if your build is going to take 2-3 years, I'll probably have a GTR by then.

No problem. I've been there twice. It's all worth the wait once you get the car back. It's also nice not to drive your car for awhile although it may not feel that way right now, because once you get it back it has that new car feeling again......makes you appreciate it more. Good luck!

Thanks man. Good luck with yours as well.

However, we're pushing for a good amount past 500whp. I guess the only question is how much will be beat that by.

JWT C2. I considered the GTM cams, but the JWT's are similar and from what I understand sound a bit more aggressive sounding at idle. Either way you can't go wrong imo.

I am going with the GTM Stage III cams. They are supposed to be pretty radical, but I don't mind. Beside they are supposed to give a pretty hefty increase in hp and tq. I like the idea of making more power without pushing the motor and turbos as much.

Yeah that's the point, I can't believe people build without cams. Are those different from the "GTM Turbo" cams as I hear everyone refer to them as?

Same cams. They have Stage I, II, and now III turbo cams, but I don't believe anyone has the Stage III yet. At least I haven't seen any dynos posted with the Stage III turbo cams. I wasn't going to change my cams, but after Sam told me how much power the stage III cams make I changed my mind.

JWT S1. My 1st motor was built in 2005 and the choices were pretty limited. I only had to change my pistons for the rebuild in 2006.
