LOL-dont lie to yourself man. You sound like your trying to justify NOT spending $$$ on certain upgrades. My opinion--->if your seriously only gonna go WOT 2X a week you shouldnt be spending so much $$$ on what you want to do. You know your gonna rag it, just admit it

The converter from Pro Torque is ~$600 IIRC? Install would be a bunch because you need to drop the whole trans.

IMHO for your situatuon the converter is the last thing necessary and maybe not totally necessary unless you go crazy with the power. The valve body is the part you realy need. Those go from $850 to $1000. Install should take a shop just a few hours at most, the bummer is that you need to pull your valve body and ship it off to be modified so your car will be down for a few weeks.

ouch down for a few weeks sucks.

and as for Alberto trust me im not trying to justify so i dont spend $, i really woudnt be beating the sh*t out of it. i just wasnt brough up that way. i would want to take care of my car for as long as possible and never plan to sell so i would want the safest set up possible. i want to spend $ on the necessary upgrades needed. thats why i started this post. i dont know much about the mechanics of cars. i just dont really need an overkill if like i said i wouldnt even be driving it hard too much. i would prob track it once and get two or three runs to see where its at and thats it. im not looking to compete in anything just want a bada55 setup on the street thnx

Good advice has been offered here. If I were you with the same goals, Id skip on the TQ converter as youdd never put one to use (that is not an insult!) since you wont be dragging on good tires. Good luck!

Well in this case I can say first hand that they've got something ready to go - my car should be ready soon . They have publically stated already that it is coming with a full announcement with technical details to be announced very soon. It's a full clutch/band/valve body/torque converter build.

I would do all 3, since they'll be taking apart your tranny anyways.. gears 'will' slip with hi hp output.. valvebody only gives you better shfiting, in a nutshell.

Now if you go overkill with braided lines etc and a HUGE cooler it will get MUCH more expensive.

where is there a tranny cooler for under 100?

I have a B&M 70268 cooler that I am installing after the factory cooler, it should knock off 15F-20F off the temps according to B&M. It has a low temp bypass feature built into it.

In our case, the valve body upgrades also increases the internal line pressure of the trans which puts more holding force on the clutch packs. Its not just a shift kit.

I've been running on the upgraded GTM 5AT tranny for almost a month and very happy so far. Not sure what to review but it used to slip before (~420wtrq on 91oct) but now feels solid and the shifts are very firm. At the same time I upgraded from the Stillen VB to the GTM VB and the overall difference is significant.

It's the GTM G35AT Upgrade Stg2 even though this was done on an FX. They can answer your questions much better and if I'm not mistaken, Sam said it will be announced soon. No slippage and firm fast shifts.

Disclaimer: the usual suspects, etc.

I was a sort of a guinea pig at the right place at the right time so you'd have to check with them for the details if/when they ever announce it. I hope you understand.
