I'm not familiar with SGP's, I went with www.edgeracingconverters.com and am very satisfied with their product and customer service.

Mine is being redone by Sam at GTM but I honestly don't know all the details yet. I know he is reinforcing some of the components and raising the stall speed though I never thought this was required. He said it helps to manage the torque transfer. I thought it was to get rid of boost lag but was told there is no real boost lag, so... that's that. I don't know enough to know any better.

When I was looking into this last year to go along with turbos, Andre at Edge Racing recommended a lower stall speed to help with traction. Two experts (Sam has 8 yrs experience building trannys) and two different opinions!

I told Sam I'd take driveability over performance if there's a choice to be made, but maybe he can deliver the best of both worlds? I know stall speed is input torque dependent, so maybe he is just broadening that range...

GTM will be releasing their specs for the built 5AT very soon. I'm anxiously awaiting that (so I know what has already been done to my tranny!).

I'll have some feedback for ya in a couple of weeks. I have an SGP Racing rebuilt transmission, upgraded TC and VB ready and waiting for install at Forged. I'll post up a review asap. Mark @ SGP indicated the stall speed was about 3200.

Yes, GTM does offer valve body upgrades in addition to everything else under the sun for the 5AT (per Sam only tested to 600 whp; not promoted for 1000 whp or frequent track use).

Can't wait for that new project to be done, it's going to be NASTY! I might go up there that weekend too, I'll hit you and Chuck up if I do. Still not sure what the schedule is looking like yet.

I think its rated at 350 lbs of crank torque or so... but capacity is obviously a bit higher.

Currently at 459whp on Forged dyno; shooting for 500-550whp after the trans install and re-tune.

Cool. I may be driving solo as Chuck might not be able to make it. Let me know.

Yeah...I am getting tired of looking at this shiny new SGP trans on the pallet. It would look much better underneath your car, Ron.

Ron....looking forward to your review. Did SGP give you a whp # that their upgrade could handle?

It was taken up to 690 ft lbs torque on the trans dyno. That was well within my goals so they did not go further.

Send a PM to either George@GTM or Sam@GTM. I'm sure they can help.

It's better if you call them - 909-481-1601. You'll get a much quicker reply... I've had trouble communicating using PM/e-mail.
