So I hit a bump yesterday and hit the chassis and today I hit the same spot except it sparked this time. Finishing my drive to work I noticed that my oil press. was above 120 and at idle its like 115. I got to work and looked under my car to find that I scraped the sway bar and dented the oil pan slightly. The oil cooler lines were fine and no oil is leaking and I still have oil so is it possible that I damaged an oil pick up or something when I hit? any help would be appreciated.

 

When you come by tomorrow we will check it out.Didn't you have the same problem before.

 

115psi at idle is not good. should be about 14psi.

p.s. watch out for that bump!

 

try tapping on the oil gauge. I get the same reading from time to time and after a tap on top of the gauge, the needle drops dramatically to the proper reading.

 

Found the problem. The oil pres. sending unit is bad. really quick fix.
