mounting o2 sensor on stock cat
Hi I was wondering if anyone has any pics of their wideband sensors mounted on their cats. I have read a couple threads about people who have done that, but have not seen any pics. When I got my current o2 sensor installed, the guy at the shop was hesitant to torch a hole into the cat so he did it on the Y-pipe. I want to upgrade my exhaust soon so I want to have a tap on the cat first before I upgrade. Thanks
How did you get your sensor mounted on before your cat? There is no clearance till you get to the cat. I've been running with my sensor after the cat for a while now and it seems fine. The cars probably running a little richer than the sensor reads but thats ok with me.
you can weld it at the top of the drivers side cat just fine, just mark it before you take it out so you can see if it will clear any parts. then just take it down and have a bung welded on it...
