dude, are you serious?... she's SO not worth your z. 3 years isn't even that long.... relationships fall apart and **** happens, but your car will always be your car until you sell it / wreck it. keep the z, figure out other options to help her, but don't just give everything up for her freakkin car. let her take care of herself.

Wow this thread took a turn for the worse, lol.

First off, she makes $9.50 an hour, and she is in school full time!

Second, Sharif thanks for the suggestion, but she went into second gear at 80-85 mph and there was oil everywhere. I wish that it wouldn't cost that much.

I realize that this may be a mistake, but I was blessed recently with the sale of two of my properties, and recently bought another, so I have to free up some $$$.

She has seriously tried to talk me out of my decision, but seriously a car is one thing, but helping someone else out is a great thing, especially someone that you have this much time invested in.

Honestly out of all of these posts no one person would do this for their girlfriend/wife? Hard to believe, I bet more than one of you guys would man up.

.........wow. I guess there's no convincing you otherwise. when your gf dumps you, don't come cyring to us that you miss your Z. (I still think she deserves the blown motor if it's her fault for misshifting. **** like that will happen, and let her learn her lesson. don't just make everything easier for her.)

There are other options, but I have had the Z for going on two and a half years, I will probably buy a Z06 in a few months after the sale of the car.

I have had a lot of fun with the car, but I haven't been able to drive it more than 4 months without something happening to it. Burnt ac line when I had the single setup, burnt powersteering line/clutch line with the twins, and other minor things that added up to a huge headache. Getting ripped at a couple of shops, (not Forged, they were great), etc.

I think that out of the two and half years that I owned the car that I may have driven it 18 months. So, in a sense, maybe it was time, and I did find a place that could do the work to the S2000 for 6k, so it isn't near as bad. I will be out of pocket a maximum of 4k to help her and that isn't so bad.

Dude are you serious, why the hostility. I am not insecure about anything, trust me when I tell you this. If she dumped me or otherwise, that wouldn't affect me at all, I would still feel good about what I did.

no unless you are whipped or you consider your self her official sugar daddy or you are rich.. which you are not the latter, so which are you... sugar daddy or whipped?

dood i think its good that you love her so much, but that is not worth doing, i think its fair that you help her out.. i mean maybe with part payment or some other options... she obviously needs to go back to stock on her car for now so she can get it fixed its fair if you help but not give out like that...
and yes nobody has posted otherwise cause nobody would do it...
I think specially if she is wife material this would be a good test for you to make to her about her managing herself economically.... once she comes out of that i am sure you can help her get her car tricked out again...but for now... she need to bite the bullet re: fixing her car.

THe only real fair option for you to give up your z is if you are going to have kids and you only have 1 dd and cant affort another one...etc... or you go broke... things liek that... but this is not one of those things

im having a kid and was in this predicament kind of.. and i chose to go back to iraq to get the money for us.. my girl would never even think to do this with my car.. not in a million years she knows how i feel about it.. if her insurance was better and her company gave paid maternity leave i would of stayed.. but this way i can add more upgrades and secure everything too..

if i were you i would tell her shes on her own or find another girl with a better job

i agree too this would be a mistake. i have done stupid things for girls when i was younger, and learned alot since then. i only regret one thing in my life, and it is something very similar to what you may be about to do! tell ya the truth, i was in a very similar situation with the girl i'm dating now. i think she would have left me had i even thought about doing what your doing. the girl your with can live with the guilt of you selling your car for her. the real question though is, would she do it for you if the tables were turned and you needed the money!? would she sell her running s2k for you?
not trying to toss a wrench in things, but alot more things to think about. it is ok to help her, but sacrificing yourself and the things you want for her is usually a means to an end.

btw- my girl had an 04 g35 and totalled it. car was paid for so she only had liability. car is gone. not even a hint of looking at me to take care of it or even help for that matter. just make sure your with the right girl before ya sacrifice your hard work that you put into your car.

Mr. Craigo,

If you have to free up some cash, hook a brotha up!
On a serious note, hey if it makes you happy to do this than go ahead. You seem to have some extra cash from your house sales won't she accept a loan or something? I borrow my chick money all time (w/ interest)

It does go from the manufacturing date, trust me. I had this debate with my Z when I had the Tranny replaced.
