I can argue both sides of this:

1) She's a grown *** adult and should be able to take care of her own chit. If she can't pay for the repairs or maintenance cost then she's either SOL or should be driving something cheaper. IMO women sometimes become useless when they have a man they can lean on. You bail her out she's going to expect it everytime from here on out.

2) It's your life and your relationship. Only you can decide what your priorities are and how important this is. People can judge you all they want but nobody can understand the dynamics between you and your girlfriend. At the end of the day you're the one coming home to her.

I generally would go with 1) but hey man it's up to you.

This is so retarded. If she is dumb enough to buy a car without having money in the bank for events like this then thats her fault. Some girl would def have to be my wife before I would even consider doing this. Not JUST a GF.... *****es come and *****es go. Best of luck to you, but IMHO there is a difference in being nice for karma and personally selling your stuff to fund a GF's *** up.

Didn't read the whole thread, but why wouldn't you want to help your long term GF when she's in need. If the situation were reversed, I'd hope that my GF would help me. If you guys value money over a relationship, well then you probably shouldn't be in that relationship.

I don't quite understand the whole situation, selling your car to fix her car, but I guess do what you have to do. I'd say sell the S2K, but whatever car you keep, in the end, it's really just a car, nothing more.

Because in a true "caring" relationship, someone wouldn't put their significant other in a position where they were forced to sell their prized posession (in this case, a z), to fix their own car.

I think its a bunch of bs anyway, like people have said, it wouldn't cost THAT much to fix it.

These are my two recommendations.

1. Buy her a buss pass and help her pay for a used stock motor.

2. If she is hot and since you don't think you are going to marry this girl convince her to become a stripper. With stripper money she will be able to buy a new motor as well as buy you stuff because she will start making big $$. Not only that she will only have to work 2-3 times a week which will make it easier on her to focus on school. Also she might start bringing girls home for both of you to enjoy after a long night of work.

Having dated a couple of strippers back in the day I'd go with option number two.

I have done research on this it will cost between 6-8 k. At first I thought around 10-12k after talking to a dealership. The cheapest jdm that I have found is $3900 then whatever labor is, and all of this is assuming she didn't screw up her tranny.

When she was a server I tried to get her to work at Hooter's once and she stayed pi$$ed at me for a month. She seems to be really against all of the whole showing everything off, at least in public:cool.

It's all been said before, but I'd like to add that if she were any kind of woman worth keeping, she would flat out refuse your money. She'd be making the responsible decisions herself. She wouldn't be driving an S2000 as a student making $9.50 an hour. She wouldn't be living beyond her means just to cut into yours. She should be building you up, not taking a little chunk out.
It doesn't matter how wealthy you are. Legit chicks do not accept flat out charity.

, You WILL regret it man. Tell her to get the money from her parents or take out a loan. Or if your gonna help dont sell your car. Give her what you can and get it in writting/contract for pay back.. Shes a girlfriend not a wife, and i hate to think your gonna learn this the hard way!!! If u love her so much to sell your car, how come she doesnt love you so much to not let you.. Unless deep down your looking to get rid of the Z anyways!!
