Default Question for STS owners

Hey guys!

I am going to get this kit installed by the end of august and I was just wondering what are some pros and cons to this kit. I know there is a couple of you guys out there so any feed back would be great! Also how is everything holding up?

Thanks

Alex

You mean you've already decided to get it before you know the pros and cons of it?

Beat me to it. The second page contain some of the Con's that I see. I already have 3K miles and still going and some has more miles than me. My # 1 concern or hate about the kit is you need to really get the car warmed before the Turbo can perform to it's potential but after maybe 2-3 blocks of driving then you should be ok.

I know the pros and cons from the MRC write up and from the driver of the car they installed it on, but I wanted to know how the kits were holding up after a couple of thousand miles. Also wanted to know if anything new came up.

Well the warming up shouldnt be a problem I usually let my car warm up before i drive it. Plus its like 2 or 3 blocks before I get to the entrance of my neighborhood.

Subzero are you running the new pipe or old? I know you were the test car but I was wondering if you have changed the pipe since the new one came out.

I have the old pipe set-up....Rick knows what he is doing with the sts systems....their is a reason WHY he set up the pipes the old style....
He made a new pipe scheme because customers/dealers where complaining of clearance issues...i have a 3inch clearance in my car and i have no issues damaging the kit....just the body

+1 if your roads are great then I suggest sticking with the old pipe for better cooling but in NYC + lowered cars.... aint gonna work. One other thing bad about the old pipe is that it is pain to lift the car.

Well the roads around GA are pretty good and Im not planning on lowering the car for a while. Doing an upgraded brake system after the turbo so I am thinking about going with the old piping.

White- If you go to the link in the second post there are some pictures of the lay out of this system.

CIn got pretty high numbers for the boost levels of that car and a nice looking power curve... i dunno what kind of a miracle you are expecting at the same boost levels....
+1 on going to the closest shop from your house though
