Default Ballistic Built Motor, Greddy TT, 5AT Dyno Numbers

Motor was built by Ballistic Motorsports:

Arias Pistons
Eagle Rods
ARP main and L19 head studs
HKS Headgaskets
6MT Cams
Pathfinder Cooling Mod
CJM Fuel Return
Secondary Fuel Injection (2 720cc injectors welded into the plenum)

Tuning was done by Giles at Holyroller Dyno with an Emanage Ultimate

So after running around on the wastegate spring, I got used to the power very quickly and had to bump it up. Below is a dyno of 7.5psi(dotted line) and 9.2psi(solid line)

low boost, 7.5psi: 365whp @ 6,000rpm, 360tq @ 4,300rpm

high boost, 9.2psi: 390whp @ 6,300rpm, 400tq @ 3,500rpm

This is it for now. I just need the 5AT trans to hold up until the rebuild during the winter Wish me luck!

500whp club coming soon!

yes, it was tuned on a dynapack, using SAE correction

I really don't want to get into a pissing contest about dynos

well your numbers don't seem overly high so i wasn't really going there.. its just that the output looks like the same format VRT's were.. (not saying the numbers were inflated) so i was wondering if that software output was from a hub dyno

Congrats - good to see more built TT 5ATs out there - good luck with the stock tranny (good idea to keep torque down!).

What are "6MT" cams?

Np...the numbers are def not purposefully inflated...I'm not trying to prove anything...just sharing my results with the other 5AT owners

Thanks! It's good to be different. The cams are from a 6MT VQ35

whats with the extra fuel injectors Andy? Why did you do that?
I'm also wondering why you didn't go with some turbo cams if you were going that far??? Just curious not trying to flame you.
what are you using for tuning? Utec, EU ????
the numbers seem kind of low to me especially for that dyno. Any idea why?

I went with the secondary injection via Greddy EU instead of 6 large injectors. It was just a choice I made with the shop and it runs amazing. I'm the second VQ they have done this to.

I didn't want to spend extra money on cams at the time. My original cams were messed and I got these for a steal

I believe the dyno is using the new SAE correction, I'm not sure; don't really care actually. I made 320/300 on spring pressure, and 390/400 on 9.2psi; it's a tuning tool, that's it. I'm not trying to get hung up on numbers

The only difference in cams were in the 05 on DE's(Non Revup). Also the revups but you obviously couldnt swap those from a REVUP motor to a DE..

yah dynapack and +1 on this post...

OP
correction seems "fair" bottom line dynapack still a good tool for tunning and thats all that shoudl matter, congrats and good luck with more boost on your built!

that would be interesting because in the past that dyno that the Holy Rollers use has produced very high numbers, hence my surprise.
Not that the dyno #'s matter that much but you didn't go with a built motor and a Greddy TT to get 280hp either.

i went TT and built motor for mid 400's and reliability (although the 500whp club sounds so tempting hehe) I don't want to play the dyno game, but I will do a dynojet just for the hell of it.

actually i believe you can swap the revup cams into the 287 motor. Just can't do it the other way around.

congrats to the OP. Looks like the secondary injection is working out pretty good for you.

Very interesting fuel injection set up. I'd be interested to know how they equalize fuel flow to all six cylinders the way they did this... I'd think the only way to be really sure is run EGT probes after each cylinder and adjust fuel trims individually (can the EU do this?) based on temps.
