we did indeed check each bank for differences, however, if the air flow to the cylinders is unequal (unlikely as they are well designed) then the fuel flow will be equally unequal producing a balanced air fuel ratio for the cylinder. FI engines use secondary injection and actually mount the injector before the throttle bodies so the air has more time to mix.
The injectors were mounted at the top of the manifold against the air flow allowing the fuel to atomize before reaching the cylinders.

Very cool indeed - thanks. The rear cylinders in an unmodified plenum setup do run a bit hotter (leaner) I believe due to the plenum shape. Probably not significant and like you said accounted for based on where the fuel is injected.
