There's just no way why it would be blowing out oil that bad without something that serious blocking the drain.

He loves building fast cars and doing the unconventional. This means trying new things, doing custom work, and being more aggresive when the customer so desires. It doesn't really matter how long his shop has been open, he's been working with cars for a long time.
No doubt, all of this is getting pretty petty. I just think I feel the need to stand up for someone when they're called out and I disagree with the incomplete truths presented while doing so...

I don't see bashing. Only the truth. Nothing wrong with that. Jetpilot's oil line was WAY too short and it was melted through. Care for some pics?

For MONTHS, Turbonetics was bashed for sending bad turbos, called liars, told their customer service and product were garbage. ALL BECAUSE OF THIS LINE. The reason it wasn't pouring oil onto the ground is because the piping actually melted INTO the line, sealing it off and causing a blockage of oil.
I haven't posted these pics until now, but you can see for yourself that the line was way too short and inadequate for the application. Meanwhile Jet was directed to turbonetics for help.
Lies? Don't think so...
/end subject

And, yes, sharif has always worked conservatively. There's no issue with that. That's why he has a record of getting things right the first time and doing excellent work. He sticks with what works, and makes it work time and time again.
Problem with that?

Perhaps that is the end result of a half a$$ed poorly designed turbo kit, that makes weak sauce power..
One more thing, I was just talking with folks and considered this-
If Chris had posted a thread such as this, even though the "warranty" work wasn't done at BZM, would his motor have been repaired for free considering that it displayed the exact same symptoms as Don's?
In that situation, Todd decided to pass around rumors and defame PF and Jeremy's tuning. In the end he just threw him a junk crank and one of the 100 sets of bearings he had lying around as a consolation prize. Fair?
I feel bad as Chris got REALLY screwed in this situation beause he wanted to stick up for all involved. I guess it's true when they say that nice guys finish last.

This thread is going WAAAYYYY off topic. Hopefully Don will post up something today or this weekend and bring some sense out of this.
MODS: please don't close the thread. There is some good info to be had out of all of this.

Todd Built the Engine
Don Installed it
Some shop in AZ tried to Tune it
Sam Tore the engine down
too many points of failure here..
if you go to FP or MRC .. their is one single point of failure.. FP or MRC ..

taurran is as bad as anvygolf in a VRT thread right now
people need to stop responding, or a mod has to delete the offending OT posts. or people can do it themselves if they really wanted the drama to end.
unneeded jabs from tuarran to builtzmotors and the NORTHEASTCOAST boys to Tuarran... and all over the place.
and that was the most unthreatening PM I have ever seen.... seriosuly... it could have been written on a Kitten and it would have been scarier.

i walk away for 5 minutes and come back to some more fun fictional jabs to refute.

Jeremy had called, me, told me the engine had run for over 1000miles, then immediately after an oil change, it was put on the dyno and it spun a bearing. He was not placing the blame, we were both in awe and waiting to see what the determining factor was.
Jeremy pulled the motor, tore it down, and found nothing wrong! Seemed to be some sort of oil starvation issue. Was not determined why at the time (or up to now as far as I know).
I felt bad for Jeremy's situation, we discussed the option of shipping the motor back to me before he tore it down, he decided he would do it himself, that is the route we went,
Even though he very openly stated that he could not determine what casued the failure, he asked if I would help the situation and send him a crank and bearings, I told him I would.
And this engine did not display the same symtpoms as Don's, Don had low compression, not making power as boost was increased...Chris's engine spun a bearing following an oil change after running flawlessly for 1000miles.
get your facts straight.
In that situation, Todd decided to pass around rumors and defame PF and Jeremy's tuning. In the end he just threw him a junk crank and one of the 100 sets of bearings he had lying around as a consolation prize. Fair?
NEVER did I badmouth anyone, no rumors, no attempt of defamation (as you so clearly are attempting poorly towards me). I sent the crank and bearings as Jeremy asked for. And sicne you seem to know if was a "junk crank" did you know that Jeremy never received a crank captain current affairs?
Jeremy called me laughing saying that he received a huge box marked "60 lbs" with just a smaller box of bearings inside of it. The box had been torn open and crank was missing thanks to fedex (still awaiting resolution- but unlikely).
AND then, the engine was rebuilt, and it spun a bearing again!!!!! Absolving me from any liability or issues from the original build!!! So stop running your mouth when you don't know the facts. I had NOTHING to do with the engine spinning a bearing, I'm not sure if the true culprit has been determined as of yet, I just know that Jeremy told me that he realizes that I did nothing wrong!!!
And I'm still out a crank and a few hundred dollars worth of bearings.

WE DID NOT INSTALL THIS LINE....PERIOD You need to talk to JetPilot. We installed a different line, and then JETPILOT removed his turbocharger and did other work on his car AFTER HE LEFT OUR SHOP, and reinstalled this new line. We have nothing to do with this kinked line.
stormcrow, not sure that's exactly right. Their website still has them there. While FP does produce their own, they have good deals on GTM blocks also. At least when i was asking in May 07, I was given an open choice - left to me to decide...

btw, this post is in no way meant to imply that sharif has anything against GTMs motors...
