Odd question for TT 350z owners
My friend has a 2004 gsx-r 600... modded with cams, exhaust, and maybe one other small mod...
my question is (if anyones car fits this boat) could a TT 350z with full exhaust done, built block, upgrade cams/pistons (maybe even bored a little, haven't decided), slicks, clutch/flywheel, etc.... basically a semi to complete built car
who would win from dead stop in a quarter mile race
***given he weighs about 250lbs or more*** and he agreed NOT to mod his bike at all, keeping it completely how it is

Most late model 600's run low 11's to mid 10's, so I wouldn't bet on that race. If you have your car perfectly setup, and drive like an animal, you might win...anything else...and you will lose.
From a roll, you should crush him!

I agree with Doug, most of the kids I see arent wearing leathers just riding in t-shirts thinking they are bad a$$es. Ive beat idiots on 600's and 750's with my car in high boost. Ive never run a bike under 70mph, the guy in the 750 started at like 90mph-that sucked big time for him...

yeah here is a golden rule. 600 norm run in 1/4 11.00-10.5 never really seen 750 run at the track 1000 norm run 9.2-10 depending on the rider. 1200-1300 norm run 8.9-9.6 but all of this comes down to driving. I have seen many z06 vettes running 14s cause the driver sucks.

Chaz I know you ride and I dont but Ive been to the track a few times. That may be norm for professional riders but not for most people who drag their bikes. Ive never seen a 600 even mod'd run near 10.5, most arent even in the 10's, same goes for liter bikes, Ive never seen 9.2-10.0 stock, most are mod'd running stupid crap like 10.8 @ 133mph. I think your being to optimistic in what most people run.
Good riders on bikes are even harder to find that good drivers as far as mag times go...just my opinion

I geuss I just hang out with people that can ride and drive Alot of the times you see people running those times is cause they bracket race. They let off "sandbag" to keep number consistent and also there is alot of $$$ involve so people dont show there stuff. My buddy on his zx12 has been King of the track about 8 times now which is pretty good seeing as he only been racing at the strip for about 3 years runs 9.8s all day to stay in what he dials in on. But put some money on a race and see how fast that 9.8 drops to 9.2 quick no stretch just a little hidden weight to keep the front end down. But in all yeah I know what ya mean though Bert. Driver is everything. Its just hard to explain. Thats why I always hate the bike/car thing but when people have both its just like an understanding. Take for instance someone with a turbo set up they think cause they watch your vids there going to run 11.0 then they get the turbo set up go to the track and run 13.99 like you said it in the driver.

I hear ya, I didnt take the sandbagging into account at the track. Come to think of it, most guys with bikes and the people around them always seem to be doing that lol...driver > power

Here's a good example of what a GREAT rider can do on a liter bike:

The driver/rider is the biggest part of the equation, but there's NO WAY you're going to keep up with a good rider on a liter bike, especially on the street. Even from a roll you don't stand a chance against a liter bike - at 80mph I'm in first gear which pulls to 110mph on my bike (stock gearing btw) - let's put things into perspective, 0 to 186 mph in less than 1/2 mile yeah, I would love to see your Z do that

My best run was 10.17 @ 142mph on my bone stock zx10r motor, stock gearing, stock tires, Arkapovic exhaust and tune - not strapped or lowered!
