So far I have been WOT all fucking day.. No breakage of the belt.. Not even any fraying of any kind.. Which you always see with the gates belts at my PSI level.. Im happy as hell...

I gotta give it another week or two though.. For better assessment of the belt..

Here is the manual for the current belt im running

Yea.. Well I have 2 of the 880-8M belt which is the long belt.. I tried the 560-8M belt but it was too short.. So I just went back to this place and ordered 2 more 880-8m long belts and told them to swap out the 4 short ones because the belts they gave me had 67 teeth. The proper belt had 70 teeth so ill have those tomorrow ill post pics asap!!

Theres a new pulley layout for the 03's:

The factory idler pulley is eliminated
The bracket will only have 3 pulleys instead of four
and the belt is a foot shorter.

Let me see if i can get a picture.

hmm interesting. I suppose that saves them some cost. It's nice that the belt is a foot shorter, but it wraps around the crank pulley about 90% compared to the old way.
This setup also wraps around the crank pulley about 60% what TIMROD's setup does.
Since the crank pulley is what turns everything, that seems pretty important

I'd guess that this new belt setup works ok for the stock or maybe 3.12 pulley, but slippage will probably be an issue after that

I guess it depends on where the slipping occurs.

The friction in the crank pulley is larger then in the other pulleys since it has a greater diameter but i guess what it has to over come is the friction in the total of the remaining pulleys which has been reduced somewhat? All of this is just speculation, i dont know much about pulleys/belts/frictions/systems.

Nice find on the Jason belts. Any idea of the price for the equivalent to the Gates 600-8MGT-20?

Ya, I would order one to test it out. I need to replace my current one anyway, since it got frayed on the edges due to my stupidity.

Do they make a smooth 6-rib serp belt like Gates as well?

I think they are about 10 bucks cheaper in every aspect. But if you go straight to a JASON factory and cut out the middle man you could save mucho $$$.......... I was doing that with the gates belts and I would always save at least $20-$50..
