I installed my vortech sc yesterday and hooked up the negative batt term and the aux (in line) fuel pump was running. I know it shouldn't be running unless the unichip turns it on, which shouldn't happen until boost. Anyway I think the relay may be connected wrong.
I followed vortech's instructions below.
couple things about the instructions.
1. On terminal #30 it never says where to connect the 1' 14g wire (I assumed it was ground)
2. Terminal #87 goes to negative on the pump, but they told me to ground the pump to one of the mounting screws so I just grounded #87 to the block.
3. If the 12v power #86 is connected to the battery and the + on the pump, wouldn't it always see power??? (I think this is my problem)

85 and 86 are the power and ground for the relay, this lets the relay switch on and off if both are connect to 12v and ground at the same time.
30 is EITHER the power if the relay is switching something with power OR the ground if the relay is switching something with ground.
then 87 is the switch leg to whatever you are switching...
good luck!!

thanks for the help
so the vortech instructions are wrong? If 87 is to switch the pump on and off (I assume in this case they want to turn it off by removing ground) why would they have me ground the pump during the pump installation? I'm still confused.
So should i remove ground from the pump and hook it up to 87?

its turning on with the ignition off and the battery connected and i know that's not right so even if my statement is wrong about turning on at boost, it shouldn't be on without any ignition.

Diagram looks right to me. When the unichip signals the relay, it should send the fuel pump to ground (#87) and turn on. Take the fuel pump ground off the chassis and hook it only to 87. The way you have it now, you're basically hooked right up to the battery.
