hey were u able to get the plastic engine cover back on? I cut mine, but it was still going to rub unless i really hacked it up so I just left it off. I have a rev-up and my pullies sit higher on the bracket...maybe thats why. IDK just wondering.

Ill try to get some intercooler pics. Thinking about cutting the plastic off like Alberto's car so that the ic is exposed.

Engine cover, i have not attempted to cut it or put it back on. Maybe this weekend.

Nice. What color powdercoat is that?

Swap them worm clamps for t-bolts... had to do that with my Evo since my UICP would blow off at the TB as well.

If your talking about the black plastic covers on both sides of the front bumper grill.. There are 4 clips in each.. No need to cut them out.. Just a flat head and pop them off..

I think he actually means the grill itself (the plastic running across the opening of the bumper).

Matt
please keep me updated Matt! I think its col their shop is open on saturdays!

Miles on the car before SC 59990, mileage after 24hrs of sc install: 60260

Kit was a brand new tuner kit, i contemplated used but wasnt comfortable with the cost savings and missing out on the 3yr warranty.

Powder coat color was Anodized Red with a Argent Silver base. eastwoodco.com sells the colors

Vids, well i guess you could see the camera mount in the car in the dyno shots? Now to find my camera to make some vids. Took it for a ride today, so much fun! I merged onto the hwy in 3 at wot! It was up to speed in no time. Still havent taken it to redline in 3rd,4th, 5th or 6th.

By plastic i did mean the front bumper grill. As for the plastics that were to be cut, i just removed them.

Where to buy t-bolt clamps. A buddy was telling me about them today. I dont think t-bolts will fit on the coupling just behind the sc, its a tight spot.

T-bolt clamps should fit... but you really only need to put them in problem areas (intercooler inlet/outlet and TB).

Thanks for the color info. Looks like it matches my valve cover perfectly.

No problem, if you have trouble getting the powder let me know, i have about a extra lb that i wont really need of the red.

So about 6 total t-clamps, now to figure out the sizes. I know the tb has the largest of the clamps, and the intercooler has just a bit smaller.

So is it common for the pipe to pop off the tb if using worm clamps. Hate to say it, but i think vortech should have included better clamps. I had two fail on me during the install where they would click back a tooth and become loose. It didnt really specify in the manual how hard to tighten them, and i didnt want to have a boost leak. Vortech should also give torque specs on the bracket bolts and sc mounting bolts.

Yep, right at 60k, the powertrain warranty ended with a nice cold grind into 5th. Thanks nissan for ignoring me and making me feel dumb. Brought the car in at 35k miles and again at 45k miles and both times they couldnt 'find' an issue.

2 1/2 to 2 3/4 should be fine for you (I don't think there's any 3 inch connections in your setup).

How much would the lb be good for coating?

I'm doing my upper and lower intercooler pipes and mini-battery bracket. And when I ever get a hard intake pipe I'll be doing that too. Not really too much surface to coat... most likely less than you had to do.
