Well, my new setup is done, so now Luie and I will be having a circuit track comparo between the JWT 700bb and the JWT 850bb setups. I just finishing tuning my car, to within 10whp of his.....should be interesting.
we are going to Barber Motorsports Park this weekend.
Here is a vid from my last time there. I am shooting for 1:30'something.

Are you familiar with that?
The guy in the passenger was Luie (eagletanggreen)
I am familiar with shuffle steering, but I am not a fan of it, unless a turn requires you to make more than 3/4 turn of the wheel. I always keep my hands in exactly the same spot, so that if I need to do a correction, I know where straight is.
I think most driving instructors agree with this strategy, but I could be wrong. When you are driving the car near the limit, your hands are going to be very busy, so although the car will be making a smooth line, your hands will not.
Your hand work was very precise through out the whole vid and was very impressive.Yea shuffle steering is more for 3/4 turns, i agree. I remember a guy steering at 10 and 2 and when he took a big turn he kept his hands at 10 and 2 crossing over his body and he lost control in the turn and the steering wheel snapped back in the other direction.Needless to say that hurt I'm sure.
Once again great driving in th evid....

Here is the vid, and just fast forward to about 3:10min and you'll see what I was talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnav5gtL2BM
On most any roadcourse, I would prefer to have the 700BB kit over the new 850BB JWT TT kit as of now. But I hope we can make a little more pregress on obtaining some more "usable power" (low end, under the curve) with these 850BB's before we give up on them (atleast for road racing purposes) and go back to the 700BB's. We will just have to see I guess.
Hope you guys have fun this weekend, be safe and let me (us) know how everything went

Luie and I will be switching cars at some point this weekend, so we can both yet a taste for the different power bands. On the dyno, the 700bb kit spooled exactly 500rpm sooner, in terms of reaching full boost pressure. Same power, but my setup has a little bit more midrange trq at low boost.

Just got home! I will be leaving in the next hour down to Atlanta. See you in the morning.
Looks like weather wise we were cutting it close.

Yep, that is our findings exactly as well. But you know as well as I do that 500 rpm difference is HUGE in that part of the power band, Haha...Its right where you need it the most, usually. The lag is so frustrating on the track sometimes.

Agreed! 500rpms seems forever. We'll see very soon how hard its going to be to keep it in the sweet spot. I see only two turns at this venue were low rpms might be an issue.
