You could get your mom and dads credit card out again, or your grandmas. Would of been nice when i was 18 to have a no limit fund for a sports car and turbos.

its funny cause if u just had everything installed and tuned properly, in the first place, u could be running 10psi on that turbonetics and 400whp all day . half the cost. and no parents threatening to take away your trust fund.

OP---->there is ALWAYS A CHANCE! I ran a TN kit with weak power levels, UTEC tuned, RFS, HKS DLI, guages, I did everything right and it only lasted 3000 miles. If you cant lose the car dont boost it, you dont sound mature enough to control yourself anyways. Mod it NA get it in the 12's and be happy with that....any set-up even tuned can blow if you cant afford it why chance it? Silly if you ask me...

so alberto the only way to be sure you most likely wont blow anything it to build your engine up this is becoming depressing for people like me that want to go FI but still want some type of reliability. I know it won't be as reliable as stock but damn 3,000 miles that just make me want to go cry.

Alberto did everything right but he is also not your average driver. If I'm not mistaken he did raise his rev limiter and on top of that he also did boost alot way up in the RPM. Most shop will advise you to stay away from boosting in the 6000+RPM because it really put a lot more stress on the Engine. But the rest Alberto is right about things can really go south fast, it is really taking a chance coz all motor are not the same, some motor are really stronger than the other.

you guys took it the wrong way and/or so overly jealous i cant stand it. im not using anyone elses credit cards other than my own. they told me i had to sell the car because they didnt want me to get into a financial bind at a young age, theyre just watching out for me. i paid for everything in my car except the xm radio for christmas and the engine which was a birthday / early christmas gift.

if they were dumping money into my car, id have it setup exactly how i want it. id have twin turbo instead of single turbo, id have brand new rims instead of used ones, my broken window internals would be functioning, id have 500+ horsepower, whatever my liking. and no, i have none of what i just said.

get a life. i mean, i expect some of you guys to be critics but you guys older than me act like kids. i know not everyone had a 350z when they were 18 but i ****ing bought it, no one else. thats what i dedicated MY money to.

and for whoever asked, i was running my turbo with TN reflash only, no tuning. which was a big problem right there.

That....or an improper install which included a boost controller, and a "test" of the system by just mashing the gas with no prior checks for problems..

i am going to say that about 90 % of the blown motors on here at 8-10 psi are due to installer errors. (tune being way off, vacuum lines not on tight, vacuum lines not routed properly, vacuum lines routed next to hot parts) we have many many cars at those boost levels and more that have last many many miles with no major issues, we have pushed and pushed the boundaries of the stock motor and found that there is much much more room for play.

just bring it to a reputable shop and dont lose any sleep over it

and if he breaks his motor he always can bring it to you guys so you can make us all another interesting youtube video .'

anyhow back on topic. a st should have no problems boosting 8psi. just take it to a good tuner and you should have no problems what so ever.
