if you are going to replace this yourself, i would def. buy/renta hand vacuum pump so that after you replace the line, you can check the integrity prior to reinstalling the turbo

you can buy this uv stuff you spray into the low pressure port and then look with a blacklight. The only problem is that everything is so frigin tight that it is hard to tell.

tuarran, I double wrapped the upper a/c line and used the clamp to hold it by the dipstick. However, I noticed on your old set-up that you had the a/c between the motor and dipstick - Which is what I should've done but how do you use the dipstick?

Anyway, mine is double wrapped w/ heat shield tape but it touches the welded protection on the down pipe. The down pipe is jet-hot coated, do you think I'll have a problem?

The lower a/c line is zip-tied away from the waste-gate relocation pipe so I don't see a problem with that one.

Ryan should have waited a couple days for the right A/C line!!! My A/C line was still good.

Jeez, sounds like someone's a tad bitter over a failed attempt at the elusive big single turbo

I'm looking at this Turbonetics kit too. Has anyone had any issues with it hurting the paint on the hood? Should I consider a turbo kit that puts the turbo down lower or behind the engine or is this heat problem manageable? I really like the TN kit but with all of this global warming going on I can't go without a/c

No, your hood will be fine. I even have a fiberglass painted hood and have had no issues.

Just do EXTRA heat shielding on your AC line like I mentioned above (I mean go overboard with it), and be extra careful with the routing. You should have no issues. A little prevention up front goes a long way.

I used a turbo blanket from Turbo logic on my TN install. that and using header wrap on all the hot pipes. It really keeps underhood temps down to a minimum.
