Tranny issues
Ok folks here's what happened..at the strip..first time in this car..clutch went away....
Pedal engages hydraulics and can see full swing of clutch fork inside tranny. I removed the slave cylinder, removed the rubber boot and reinstalled the slave cylinder and had the wife fully engage and disengage clutch to be able to see this.
I can see the fork swing fully compressing and decompressing the clutch cover.
If you try to drive the car its as if there is no clutch at all. in other words it wont disengage to shift into gear...I can "jam" it into 3rd gear and it will buck and drive then can shift into forth with no clutch..
So I am thinking it has a bad throwout bearing or something came loose, although there is nothing that I can hear "rolling" around in the bottom.
I did remember hearing a "rattle" that was indicative of the throwout bearing last week when I came back after a drive. I may be answering my own question here...but am looking for someone who has had this issue before..
So will a bad bearing not allow the engagement of the clutch? The last Z I had apart for a clutch was in 1990 in my old 240Z.
Please shed some light on this if you can..
Thanks
Tom
Ok so posted this in engine and drivetrain with NO responses..
So after finally buying another "low clearance" jack I was able to get the car up on all four ramps I own and have been crawling around looking underneath to decide if I want to tackle the tranny removal / reinstall. Frankly money isnt an issue, its not my daily driver and just really not wanting to drop it off at the dealer to have whatever is broken replaced. I figure I'll get my car back with half the tread gone on my rear tires and 50-100 miles of "testing".
I also own three diesel trucks and have R&R'ed the auto tranny (325lbs) in my dually 4 times so I figure how hard can it be?
I stuck this post in here HOPING somone has R&R'ed a 6mt with a greddy twin setup and can tell me if the removal of the wastgates and dump tubes is neccessary to pull the tranny..
HELP!

a bad bearing wont cause these symptoms.
Its possible you have a collapsed pressure plate, or bent/broken forks. If ur gearbox works like normal with the car off and u can change into gears, id lean more towards a clutch issue. If u get werid noises, well maybe u have sheered some gears.. But i find this very unlikely as our boxes are fairly strong.
