I think it's 3/8 or 1/2.

Arrg , I went to have this installed during my oil change and the fins of the APS oil pan stopped it from tightening all the way up. Did you go with the adapter at the top of the page too??

I know it doesn't look pretty, but no issues with it. You might be able to use the adapter so long as it doesn't stick down to far.

No problem, I forgot about those stupid fins. I might order the adapter to see if it will work first.

Thanks!!

I was going to do my oil change and was unbolting the plug and it just kept spinning too. So is that the only solution if the bolt just spins is to remove the pan? How much is it to helocoil? And does that make a larger hole?

Forgot to mention they sell the adapters for the Fumoto, but wondering if that makes the valve sit too low?

I know people used a bar to pry it loose or a seal scraper, use extra care so you don't damage anything. Scrapers are sold at Sears.

thanks for the info...I actually wrapped a prybar in a towel, grit my teeth and yanked the hell out of it...popped off then. That sealant is ridiculous!

Haha nice at least you got it off without breaking anything. I agree that stuff is beyond industrial strength.

That sucks, the design of the drain plug area really blows I wonder if everyone who's running these stripped it out?
