I just want to know exactly what the customer paid for when he bought that motor. Was he charged for the "nismo main and head studs" and ported heads? What about the Nismo rod bolts? Shouldn't the rods have come with their own ARP bolts? And honestly, what bona fide engine builder puts together an engine with mostly stock parts and expects to see it last reliably into the 600's?

Any one want to guess at the odds the head gaskets will give on the dyno or soon after full boost is reached ?

That would be up to the customer to disclose, but the price was more than fair (so I was told) And yes, the rods DO have ARP bolts in them

Hi Pete, thanks for chiming in. I tried calling you prior to posting this, but couldnt get through to you. I am sorry this had to be posted, and as promised, we all kept your name out of it.

I know you seem to be happy with your car, but you know very well, the concerns I had with this engine, from the moment you sent us the spec sheet. Things just didn't add up. I know you are trying to keep piece between your various business partners, but I still felt it was important for people to know the facts of this, so nobody else gets burned by RA.

I will see you at SEMA. I have no doubt an engine with stock bolts and gaskets can make power. Shops have made 500whp+ with completely stock internals on the dyno for testing purposes. But I didn't want to be the one to tune it to higher boost level, when I knew the components in the engine were not suitable, and were different from what you were originally promised. I am glad you worked out something with Scott, so if anything does happen to this engine, he will cover you. But it doesnt change the facts of this situation.

I will admit that even I immediately jumped to conclusions when sharif called but called RA to ask them what was going on with this. When i reviewed what was on the invoice...that is when I called and appologized for my mistakes to pete and sharif.
I have two questions:

1 - so sharif did in fact already know the substance of this thread was cleared up with everyone involved? thanks.

2 - your car is going to be at SEMA with the V8 in it??

I have NO problem fully waranteeing this motor for any flaws that it might have, and keep it from making (AND HANDELING) the promissed HP. Our motors are used to it, we beat on them all the time. In fact, from a earlier discussion with BC Racings Pete, I might be even driving this car in some Time Attacks / Autocross events next year. I would love the chance to showcaes what that motor can do.

you can't be serious. I have personal experience on what the OEM gaskets will hold, along with reading about them on the forums. If you were told the goals of this build was to possibly reach 600, you 100% ripped off your customer. Your reputation is garbage based on your replies to this thread IMHO

Let me get this crystal clear from you...

Do you SERIOUSLY think that OEM main & head bolts along with stock head gasket are suitable for a reliable high 500 to low 600whp engine intended for time attack/autocross races???

Edit: And that is intended to last longer than a race or two, of course.
