Do we have to add an additional gasket for this or use the existing one, is there one on the plate that we remove to add this mod

Yes there is a gasket under the block off plate. I replaced it.

You might be able to reuse it depending on how "stuck" your block off plate is. I had to pry it off with a blade screwdriver.

If you are careful in removing the block off plate you will very likely be able to re-use the gaskets. If you have easy access to a dealer you can order a gasket for the block off plate and the 2 ports that connect to the rear side of the cylinder heads. But that only if you damage the original gaskets.

Cool thanks, found the part number for the pathfinder on Nissans website, only a few bucks, figured when I am ordering the other gaskets and bolts, I will just get this one to.

i use my craftsman nut extractor. It grabs destroyed nuts and loosens them easily. Sears usually carries the little set of them in stock.

Does anybody know any good places to get metric thread fittings? Jegs, Napa, and Summit don't have anything.

Thanks guys. Ended up using a M12x1.25 oil pan plug on the other port, worked perfect!

I don't think this mod actually does anything unless you drill a hole in your block after you remove that block off plate, as it looks all sealed off down there... So yeah all you guys in this thread that did the mod, did you drill anything in there after taking the blanking plate off?

EDIT: Finally managed to confirm that this port is indeed connected to the rest of the coolant system and you don't need to drill anything, but maybe not quite how some people think (quite different to how the coolant flow diagrams show). More info in this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...inder-mod.html

I have 2006 350z 6MT.. my question is would it effect my ecu or make me have checks engine.. since the mishimoto thermostat cools down at 154 and the OEM cools down at 174 I believe .. would it create problem if I put the mishimoto thermostat???
