Default Procharger 400 RWHP!!

While I was at the track tonight trying to break into the 13's I was told by a Procharger tech that the Procharger Kit is now producing in the neighborhood of 400 RWHP. This seems to be extreme to me, any opinions?

But for how long......

Would definitely be pretty cool if it lasts.

I have no doubt that the kit can produce that much hp...it's not hard to do. I'm more worried about how the engine is going to hold up. I could probably put a T-88 on a stock-internal civic engine and make 500 whp for about 2 or 3 seconds....before the explosion.

just give me 400 crank hp, I'll be happy.. 400rwhp seems too much to be reliable..unless it has a kick azz fuel management / timing control.. or maybe it runs on 100+ octane

I don't know....I have seen some monster numbers put up by boosted Maximas running on stock internals. The VQ35 seems to have the stomach to handle a lot. I guess it really boils down to how long you expect your engine to last. If you are looking for it to pass the 100k mark, then maybe this isn't the way to go. But 40k, 50k.....I don't see why not.

But I agree, some forged pistons, upgraded cams, and some reliable fuel management won't hurt my feeling either.

Supras have the strongest stock bottom end(skyline?), so thats not a great example.

It's actually a fine example...the Z's engine is considered to be the next "supra" type engine. It will be twin turbo'd stock in japan and it is in fact a form of a skyline eninge.

The skline engine supposedly will be a 3.3 liter twin turbo. Look at the stock compression ratio of the z compared to the surpa and skline. Also nobody knows for sure what will go in the new skyline and there has been no official word on any factory turbo for the vq35

In my opinion I not surprise that Procharger is getting 400 WHP just because is around 150WHP more over stock and this is the avg. whp that Procharger put in others cars. in my personal expirience procharger give me 175 WHP in my last car (Camaro SS 97) @ 9 psi.
But always is the question: "the engine can handle that compression for long time"?

Default I heard..

I heard that the Z in Japan will have a V8 OPTION or does it already exist? IF it doesn't currently exist then I heard that is what they might do maybe here as well. Notice the V8 craze these days......I say whatever Greddy or PRo Chrager says the car can take then so be it. Hell, there doing all the R&D on how much the engine could take. I'm sure if Greddy or Pro Charger wanted to push 400hp safely and they knew it would work SAFELY then they will let people know this. If it can not then they will suggest internal work needs to be done. JMO

I heard this from a friend of mine. His name is Shin Yoshikawa and you can see his work in Forza magazine, Excellence, European Car and sometimes SCC and many others. He has good relations with Nissan Japan. He also gave me a great opportunity to go to the NISMO Festival with him 4 years ago at Fuji Speedway. Had a blast! Anyways I would have to double check with him on that. He mentioned it to me 1 year ago about the V8. He's usually right. He's told me about alot of changes in future cars and they have all come true. I don;t know we'll see.

Big companies that race autox, are swapping the skyline's inline 6 for the VQ35DE, they see something in it's potential, something we don't.

I really doubt Nissan will have any V8's in any sedans/sports cars out. They would have to create a whole new platform for a V8. Plus, how many jap. cars (excluding pickup's and few suv's) which have V8 engines? It's seems to be more a domestic thing.

Do you have an ETA, pricing, or any websites selling the procharger? Thanks

Lexus GS 430, LS430, SC430, Infiniti Q45 and M45 all have V-8s I do believe. And Nissan technicaly does have a v8 platform in the M45 and Q45.
