which turbo is the real deal here...
http://www.nissansportmag.com/shooto...oshootout.html
in that link while reading up on all the dyno readings greddys seems to be top of the line in torque as well as hp..my question is people don't really talk it up to much..just wondering, while im looking for the best answer to start my Z off with some serious power, which turbo does everyone think is the best setup and y does greddy not seem to get the same respect as others? is it a weak setup? thanx everyone
(also would just like you to keep in mind this is a daily driver) ...but still doesnt mean it cant be a beast)

Last time I checked, The GReddy system wasn't very complete as it utilised an EMS that wasn't up to the task, used stock injectors and removed the front reinforcement bar of the car.
Many people feel that if you go with Greddy, get the tuner kit if available so you can buy the individual parts that you really should've gotten in the first place.

GReddy kit comes with RC 440cc injectors, uses the eManage for tuning (which is sub-par for many on these boards in terms of reliability and control). They don't offer any kind of "tuner" kit. You get the base kit, and the intercooler kit. I don't know of anyone who's running the kit without the intercooler...
FWIW - I've heard from a ton of shops that the GReddy is second to none in terms of fitment and reliability. BUT - if you want a better EMS, you need to buy it, if you want a fuel return system, you need to buy it, etc. It's not a "complete" kit out of the box according to most, but it's definitely a good product...
Not sure what "negative" things you've heard, but most of the guys running strong built block setups here run the GReddy twins.

For the most part, if you have the money to go turbo, you also have the money to go with a better EMS. It's not that big of a deal and I personally would go with a Greddy system also.
Lets do it this way, GReddy Kit With Intercooler for $5500-$5800 and you need a EMS, Return Fuel System, and a BOV.
While APS is for $7,900 and you get everything you need but including a Crappy EMS (at least its better than the E-Manage maybe similar to it but its not as reliable as others on the market well at least its not good at higher than 380-400 WHP), second thing the Injectors they are rated at 500 cc at 4.0 Bar (58 psi) because APS use a 50 PSI of Base Fuel Pressure instead of 40 PSI like the others when rating the Injectors, so they are less than 500 cc don`t be fooled.
Ok APS Tuner Kit is for $7,000 and it doesn`t include the EMS and the Fuel system.
am not gonna comment about Turbonetics because Turbonetics is only good for no more than 450 WHP and its not recommended for the person who`s looking to upgrade in the future.
The Pros of APS:
Water Cooler Turbochargers,
Everything is supplied,
No Need to remove the front reinforcement bar.
Cons of APS:
The Crazy Price,
The EMS,
The Fuel System, its alright but still there`s a better ones when you compare it to CJM or AAM.
The Internal Wastegate has less control when compared to the External.
Pros of GReddy:
Bigger Turbos than APS so more power is expected.
Best Priced over them all,
External Wastegate vs the Internal on the APS.
Cons of GReddy:
Oil Cooled Only Turbochargers,
Crappy EMS,
You Have to remove the front reinforcement bar (some people did manage it by modding the front bar somewhere but its so possible)
Some items included are available in better quality such as the oil lines (Forged Performance carry the stronger ones).
if you wanna ask why GReddy didn`t include a BOV, think of it you can have whatever BOV you want not like APS you are limited to theirs.
so now lets think of it that way
GReddy TT/W Intercooler $5500
CJM Return Fuel system Stage 1 $985
Walpro 255lph Fuel Pump $99
BOV $180
EMS, its up to you but lets say u got the
GReddy E-Manage Ultimate:
GReddy eManage Ultimate Main Unit $499
GReddy eManage 3Bar pressure sensor $105
GReddy eManage Ultimate Supplemental Harness $42
or you got
UTEC:
Turbo XS-UTEC Engine Management System $800
Turbo XS MAP Sensor $99
GReddy with everything listed when chosing eManage is $7,410 and when chosing UTEC is $7,663 and APS Tuner alone is for $7,000.
P.S: if you ask which is better eManage Ultimate vs UTEC of course UTEC is the winner.

I beat my brains out asking myself the same question. So when I found this website I noticed the senior members would say "USE THE SEARCH FUCTION" when a new guy would ask a question such as this, so I did. I looked at countless threads of turbo installs, engine builds and dyno runs. I called just about every reputable vendor and asked questions. I also had someone take me for a ride in their turbo car. After all that I decide the Greddy kit and HKS v-pro were right for me. My car is @ SGP now and everything is being installed and tuned, It sould be ready hopefully before Thanksgiving, I will start my own thread and have some pics as well.
If I were you I'd call MRC or VTR, use the search function and check these out:

Totally agree. It drives like stock until the 500 + rwhp kicks in. Thank God that Sharif talked me out of the "Other" turbo kit that I wanted to have him install. Have someone give you a ride in a car with a JWT setup, and then compare it to the others.
Good luck

not like either of us have made power with it
