Pretty easy question: How many TT owners are running their stock internals?
I was reading the sticky "How to do Twins right the first time" and while I'm not saying Going Deep is wrong for upgrading the internals I don't think its a must. I considering the JWT TT kit and just doing some research on what I need. So far this is my list:
EDIT: Updated list
- JWT 535BB Twin Turbo Kit
- JWT Clutch/Flywheel Combo
- CJ Motorsports Fuel Return Kit
- RC 550cc Injectors w/ clips
- Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
- Defi 60mm BF Series Gauges: Boost Gauge, Oil Temp Gauge &, Defi-Link Control Unit
- CF A-Piller Dual Pod Set
- TXS DTEC Map Sensor
- Perrin Boost Solenoid

Well, if you want a super reliable setup, I would add a return fuel system to your list. 550cc injectors will do the list. It looks like you aren't going crazy with your setup, going for reliability.

Im also running stock internals. My first Greddy Twin didn't go so well. I blew my diver side turbo and sold the whole kit. I also had the AAM return fuel system. Now im only running a greddy twin turbo kit on stock internals without a return fuel system. But im going to get one again. I keep on getting fuel cuts and i would have to stop and turn off the car, then turn it back on so the fuel can come back. It's pretty sad =/ only boosting on the stock wastgates. It might be my tune but i would get a fuel system to stop that from happening.

Look at getting a map sensor for the utec and some sort of boost control. I think utec has the ability to control an add on solenoid for boost, which will probably be the easiest and cheapest solution. Other than that, I would get a decent clutch. I am NOT a fan of the JWT clutch... others will argue that it is great. I can only speak from my experience driving it and seeing it compared to stocker it replaced. The JWT is a stock clutch with modified hub. It is organic material, and IMHO I think it is a joke people use it on boosted cars. Get a decent kevlar/carbon hybrid single face, or better yet, get a twin disc carbon. I can say from being on my 4th clutch (if you count the stocker) money is well spent on a good clutch.
As far as running stock internals, you want to consider the # of miles on your motor. For low boost levels on a healthy motor, the stock motor should hold up just fine for many miles. To determine if you motor is healthy, do a compression and leak down test prior to the turbo kit install.
Good luck
edit:
Another thing to consider is the JWT TT setup itself. If you run a stock motor, the small turbos, the 530bb (or 5XX-something) provide little headroom for increased power if you do decide to build your motor down the road. Now considering the 700's, is a bit too much for stock internals. If you go beyond the stock motor for more power, you will be looking at purchasing larger turbos to make the build worthwile. I think a consideration of the greddy or APS kit might be better suited for your goals. Don't be fooled by turbo lag myths and quick spooling BS of the JWT reviews. The APS and greddy will give you great response and still have more headroom for a potential motor build down the road without a turbo swap.

Couple things you should look at getting also,
1. 550cc injectors - people like the RC brand
2. Steel Braided Clutch Line
3. Catch Can
4. AFR / Fuel Pressure Gauge to keep track of your fuel pump.
5. research other fuel pumps because people have had trouble with them in the past.
6. Give Ada a big *** hug for me for letting you do this!
Good luck brotha and im excited!

Also please explain why the CJM is "better" than the AAM Stage I. I added the CJM to my list cause I rather price high than not acct for the extra money needed. Thanks.
