Default driving turbonetics st on no tune...

i got a turbonetics set up without the reflash. im getting my utec tuned at GRD in chicago. its roughly 90 miles away. could i safely (and slowly) drive the z from milwaukee to chicago to get tuned? this is defiantely a last resort if i cannot find a trailer to take the z in, but if need be, could it be done?

just take out the wastegate spring. you'll have zero boost pressure.

the biggest issue is in the injectors (assuming you put in bigger injectors ). they will need to be scaled to make the car driveable. otherwise, stay off boost and below 60% throttle (or whatever your threshold setting is in the UTEC) the car's oem ECU will control everything

I drove around with my TN kit on stock injectors and stock ecu for a couple weeks. Just stay out of boost. (i.e don't floor it!!!!) You can go to 1-2 psi without an issues, but don't push it!!!! you can drive on highway around town, etc....it won't be a problem.....But again, Don't accelerate hard enough to start spooling the turbo!!!!

you will run really really rich, if you can keep it running you can do it if you stay under 25% throttle...

Everyone seems to say it will be ok under certain conditions. But you already must have spent several grand. Go for the couple hundred to have it hauled there. Good luck with it all. Give us an update after it's tuned?

Go to Turboxs.com site and download the base map for your kit (TN)

http://www.turboxs.com/utec350zupdate.htm

Not sure if the base map uses 380CC injector so you may need to scale it. I do see a 550cc base map though.

Check this thread and it will guide you on how to scale your injectors.

He is running a 440 inj so he'll run pig rich if he doesn't scale those injector. One other way is just un-install the 440 and bring back your stock injector.

The stock widebands should be able to handle 440s

Yes, you should be ok driving from milwaukee to chicago on 440s, try to stay out of boost, especially in the higher gears.

just put your stock injectors back in......it should take about 1/2 an hour to swap them back in!

BTW, you can shift at 7000 rpm if you want to. pretty much, you can accelerate as fast as your car was in NA form.....just don't spool the turbo up. It is very easy to drive the car without going into positive psi.

Look easy but I have a hard time not hitting boost. Maybe it's my foot but for me to do it, I can't press my gas more than 25% and I have to keep an eye on my boost gauge all the time.
