Can someone explain Ambient Temp and IAT.
We all have FMIC to cool down the compressed air coming from our turbo/SC right. I'm not sure how accurate the IAT temp that I'm getting from Utec/ECU coz it is really damn close to the outside Temp.
When I did my logging at 55F, my IAT is usually around 14C. When I did some logging when the outside temp was 47 then my IAT is around 8C. When I did some logging at around 36F then my IAT is between <1 to 2C.
My IAT is really close to the outside temp. How close are your IAT to the outside Temp?

1-2 deg C is lower than 36 deg F.
Are you taking measurements while cruising or while under high levels of sustained boost?
Is your IAT sensor in the intake flow stream behind the compressor?

Not sure how utec get it's IAT. I thought this all come from the ECU? the numbers are from a low of boost around 3-4psi and pretty much the same even at cruising. I have a rear-mount Turbo so it does help improve the IAT but damn I'm pretty much dead even with the outside temp
Maybe it's my TopSecret Front Bumper
you won't see a big spike in air temps from 3-4 psi.....and all that piping with the rear mounted turbo will also lower the charge air temps. Combine that with an intercooler, and you will really see low IATs.
