I have a JWT TTkit with 530bb and a stock block. I was considering honing the cylinders and running stock bore forged pistons and forged rods is this a good idea (or is it a short cut that will cost me more money in the end)?? I take occasional trips to the drag strip and road coarse but 98% street driven I want to be at a reliable 450ish whp I am currently an uncorrected 370whp. Thanks in advance for any help.

Typically, with forged pistons you do need to re-bore the block. Expansion rates are much different for cast (stock) and forged (aftermarket) pistons. You really want a new and fresh bore for forged pistons. You are asking for ring sealing issues and piston slap if you try to go cheap.

you really need to fully balance the crank to the new internals. it probably wont last long like that. if you take out the crank, you might as well do it right. honing and boring only wont add too much to the project costs.
you can do it right the first time or do it over again later...

Really though, Just a shame to get that far and not do 100%. Id feel as though I got to fondle but not to screw. Overall balance is what makes it work
actually sharif and i are very different individuals and have different opinions BUT we are developing a very nice business relationship. we tend to be a little crazier where sharif has always had a very professional personality. i have given him my sincere appologies for any of our actions in the past (mostly just trying to set up races with his cars for fun), and he understands.
