It is a standalone, in that it has complete fuel, ignition and cam timing control. It does not alter stock signals (maf, crank trigger) attempting to change the fuel/timing as a piggyback does. The oem ecu is retained to run the other functions of the car such as gauges, dbw, cruise, etc.

I dunno why more shops that have now tuned with the Haltech havent messed with the VTC to actually use the unit to its potential. Its kind of upsetting more people arent doing these things.
Forcefed-could you post a graph with boost logged? What kind of power are you making and at what boost level on pump gas? Id love to see a graph of that as well. TIA

Using 93 octane (without any type of AI) 17-18psi is about where I stop on my current setup.

Wow 17psi on pump is nice. We are very close in peak power at 15psi, but I make much more TQ. Your numbers are 17psi arent too shabby. I LOVE the new numbers at 20psi are sick. For some reason I thought you had posted your track runs at Mason Dixon (old dyno) at 603whp were at 19psi/race gas, the chart shows 22psi...regardless, the set-up is nice, and after seeing what you trapped before I would say 134-135mph EASY now

Thanks. It's a single 4" we made. I haven't gotten the tuning completely finished yet. I'm using an old school HKS EVC IV for my boost controller, and boost response seems to be a bit slower with it on. Here's an overlay with the boost controller off compared to it on. What RPM are you making your peak torque?

Peak TQ at 15psi is about 4300-5000rpm's...that boost controller isnt helping you, at 4000rpm's I am roughly 100ft/lbs up on you, your missing that nasty midrange! Also keep in mind this was on a fresh motor (less than 500 miles) and stock FD, numbers could vary now.

Nice torque numbers. The torque difference could be a couple of things(boost controller, camshaft profile, VTC tuning etc...) I have some wiring to sort out before I do anymore tuning. Overall I'm pretty happy with the torque curve as long as the power carries out to 8K. Hopefully sometime next week I'll have some new numbers, I'm going to find out just how much the 18G's will do with the wastegates pinned shut

I run 1 bar springs for low boost, my EBC barely turns up the boost for "high boost", UTEC EMS, so stock VTC, JWt S1 cams. I look forward to your numbers, seeing your car run was awesome, we need to catch up at the beginning of next season and run em. No more low boost runs for me, time to step it up
