ok... people can stop posting now... you all act like you now have the 'full story' yet GTM's and the OPs stories are pretty far off from each other.

people need to stop condemning one or the other and let them work it out... three pages of 'OMG GTM RUles' or 'OP GOT JACKEDD' are not needed///

+1 on what Hex said.

Sam has always been upfront and professional when accused of any wrong doing or slander. Like I said there seems to be a resent trend of just posting up accusations about "shops" with out any real proof or facts. I can say personal in the dealings I have had with Sam, he as always been completely professional and usually went above and beyond what I expected and paid for.

also, because i didn't read the post, i didn't know if he contacted GTM. there have been numerous threads lately where both parties could have prevented everything by private communications.
I tried to deal with this in private communications but Sam very seldom returned calls, and when he did it was just broken promises again.

Generally I agree, but in this case is may have been as a result of the long development time on GTM's stroker motor. If we think of this as a contract, the buyer has an expectation that work would be completed in a reasonable amount of time. If that doesn't happen, the entire contract could be void including any no refund clause.

Not taking sides here, just pointing that out.

I have the proof with the receipts that are all dated, I did not say that Sam did this to everyone just that I have had a bad experience with him. And tried to deal with it privatly but got no where.

It funny that as soon as some one puts up a thread about a vendor (whos has not contacted them or avoids them) the vendor imediately calls them... Could have avoided all of this... Good Luck 2003

doug, the thread was already posted when he spoke to GTM if you re-read the post you quoted.

it is slightly confusing though.

I did not post again after Sam called UNTIL he posted and started lying about our previous conversations.

I honestly think you need to take this to a private conversation. This "he said she said" won't get you anywhere.

Ok...I keep reading about people saying that you shouldn't post because this is he said/she said. I disagree.

While in this particular case I am stongly in favor of Sam and GTM because of the points that both GTM and the OP agree upon. I still think people have a right to post to purge out other shops that aren't like Sam...in this case I understand being upset with a 6-8 month development...even if the OP said take your time...I think it's a bit much, but as we all know from the nature of this type of work...

Sam went above and beyond with the refund and I commend you for that. I doubt you'd find a handful of shops with that integrity/customer service in the whole country. OP...here's my advice, you knew there was risk because the stroker kit didn't work and GTM said they were in development of thier own...even though on average it should have been done much sooner, $hit happens and you knew you were taking that risk, sam clearly told you it wasn't ready and gave you his best guess...

I think it's because of this that most shops won't give you a date cause customers don't realize that some cars are easy and others are a biatch. I don't think you got ripped off and I feel your title was unwarranted, but you do have every right in the world to say...hey, this is what happened...i'm pretty bummed about it...guys don't forget that even a great shop like GTM slips schedule once in a while when they're developing new products...but in the end...you shouldn't be taking risks that you're not willing to gamble on.
