I bought my APS TT used. I've been boost happy for about 8000 miles, about 14000 miles total on the kit. I am very happy.

Really.. was it worth it to buy the used instead of new, in your own opinion? And did it come with everything that would have came with the kit new?

Some of my turbo buddies would never buy used turbos. But they told me if i do get one used, check for shaft play in the turbo.

+1, I guess if you're in a tight budget then go for it. IMO buy new!

My opinion on that is " buying a used turbo kit is like buying used underwear....you never know what was done to it or done in it".......

Most of the time you find that you'll be missing many little things which can add up to a lot of downtime on your car. If you want to buy it used, buy it from a guy who is already taking off his turbo kit and just do a straight swap then and there.

i bought mines off these forums used. was missing a few parts here and there. had my installer go over all the components and made sure they were good. just make sure you have someone go over all the parts. overall i saved a lot of money on it. got a greddy tt w/ fmic and emanage ultimate for less than a greddy tt w/o fmic

Well it only had like 4000 miles or so on it, and the guy HAD it on his car. I just had the shop take it off of his and swap it onto my car.

1 or 2K may seem like a lot at the time, but you will feel a lot better about your purchase when you buy it new, just because you know exactly what you're getting

you get what you pay for..if you see a used turbo kit for sale for dirt cheap..that is a flag... but regardles i think its fine to buy a used turbo kit...but of course it all depends on the condition....
many people have had no problem, but a few have had some problems and that was related to getting a used kit that was incomplete.... or already had broken parts., if thats not teh case with the person you are buying the kit from( and its a reliable seller) then you are good 2 go

i probably wouldn't suggest buying a used turbo kit over the internet unless it is coming from a trustable user. If you know the ins and out of what your buying that could make it easier too. Most of the time used kits come with missing parts or woar parts that need replacing to ensure a safe install. When looking at all of it you dont really notice small missing pieces unless you know exactly what your looking at. Costly and Timely hiccups when it comes to installing the kit. I would suggest buying from someone local so you can check it out in person.

I bought mine used, and was told everything was there, ended up missing a bunch of misc. parts, and was a pain the *** to get all of them. Could have just bought a new kit.

I boughjt mine , but I know the car that it came off from.. So I actually had a pretty good idea on the condition of the turbos. Buying used turbos is a risk , but you can always just rebuild them for 400 a piece just to make sure they are good to go. Thats what I did and I have had ny greddy Twin for over 8000 with no problems.
