haltech vs. proefi
#21
I heard a rumour that Intense made 800RWHP on stock sleeves on their G35 at 22psi with ProEFI. Stock sleeves.... looks like the Z can be a Supra killer for alot cheaper than we all thought!

Making 800hp for a few pulls on the dyno is impressive, but it does not prove that the stock sleeves are fine for anyone looking to make that power. Right now there is not enough evidence either way to say they can or can not. There are others hitting 500-600whp on stock rods... but we know for a fact they don't last at that level. Once the stock sleeves are proven with many miles of abuse, track days, etc at 800+whp, then I would get excited. But until I see that, personally I would sleeve my motor if I was targeting 800+ today.
Exciting stuff, I think we all look forward to future updates and others pushing the envelope.

well, met with john tonight and got abit more of the scoop on everything. sounds like the proefi is still abit out on getting a polished product out and the features that have been posted are for level 2, not just level 1. sounds like prices on level 2 might be in the motec range.
got to see in person the interface of the haltech and features available now, and looks like with my timeline, i will be heading with that. sounds like they are currently working on the traction control and the configurable outputs as we speak (or type) and will hopefully be out soon.
the proefi still sounds very good, but needs to come a little bit further with development. will be an awesome system once it is finished though.

That is my goal to see if the stock sleeves will handle that power.

The Haltech kit from Injected is a really nice piece of hardware, and I REALLY like the software a lot already. I have been nothing but impressed, along with the support from Hal.
I will report back after I spend some more time with both.

I travel tune, if you are unable to find anyone in your area that does or that you trust. I support both systems, along with many others!
